Kili - Rongai Route - dep 10th Sept

Hi Everyone

Anyone booked on this trip yet?

Cat x

Hi Cat,

My husband Randy and I are booked on this trip.  We are coming from Canada, so we will join the group at the airport in Kili on the 13th.  We fly in on the morning of the 12th.  We wanted a day to recover, 8 hour 40 min. flight from Canada to London, then the 8 and a half to Nairobi, hour to Kili, plus almost 8 hour lay over in London...  Have you travelled with Exodus previously?  We are looking forward to it ~ we have wanted to do this trip for years, but we are not climbers, so we have some apprehension but as they say... we aren't getting any younger!  Are you traveling from London?

I just looked at the trip code ~ maybe we aren't on the same one ~ do you do the brief safari after the climb? we do.

Hi Cat,

I'm leaving on the 10th from Heathrow, is this the trip you are on?

My husband (TONY) and me (HELEN) are booked on this trip.  Just paid the final balance so its getting close now.  Not done much training other than walking up hill at the gym !!!  More worried about altitude sickness.

We are both in our middle 40's and very adventurous so really looking forward to going.

We should all have exodus bags so no doubt will bump into each other at the airport, looking forward to it.

Yes, it's the trip leaving on 10th - I'll meet you in Marangu as I'll already be there.

Not long to go now - getting a bit nervous and excited!

Hi all

There is a lot of us 'Kili Trekers' on this site trying to contact others in they group. I've be in touch with most of you traveling to Kili in Aug, Sep and Oct. As there are a couple of us going to North wales to climb Snowdon on Sat 14 Aug, arriving the friday night and camping out. Sunday will look at Tryfan another lovely walk/climb. Therefore I would love to get as many Kili Trekers together to do some walking and talking. If you are insterested e-mail me on [email protected] I think it would be great to get everyone together and discuss 'Kili'

Hear from you Jim

Hello All

Hi Guys

I think I may be on the same trip as you all, do you depart Heathrow on tuesday 7th September?

Really looking forward to the trip but like you all a bit nervous about the altitiude sickness.

See you all soon

Hi Kim

We are not on your trip, we leave Heathrow on 10th September.

Good luck anyway.

For those who are going on the 10th, have you got all your essentials. We have just got to pick up malaria tablets and hand wipes and then we are good to go. I was very apprehensive at first but now I'm so excited.  Got my new exodus bag so no doubt we will all see each other at the airport, certainly no need to wear a "Red Rose" on our coats!!!

The *captains climb* is taking place on the rongai route around the time you are on kili. 15 past welsh rugby captains are attempting the trek between 6th and 16th sept. maybe you will get a glimpse of them somewhere.

good luck everyone!!!! you lucky devils!

Just finished work for 3 whole weeks! Trying a trial run of packing today, should prove a challenge.....

Is anyone else getting their Visa on arrrival? Intended to get mine in advance but ended up leaving it too late.

Very excited and very apprehensive!

We are getting our visa on arrival, it works out cheaper.

Not started packing yet but everything laid out on the floor, just a few civie clothes to add.

Getting malaria tablets today ready to start on Thursday.

Very very excited now, cant wait

Helen and Tony

Thats good to know about the Visa Helen.

Just done my first trial run of packing and am amazed and delighted that everything fits and is actually under the weight limit. Here's hoping I'm not missing anything major!
