Tour de France in Numbers

198 riders, 22 teams, 21 days. It can be only one thing – the Tour de France!

Now in its 103rd year, the Tour de France is one of the biggest sporting spectacles in the world. Broadcast across 188 countries, the iconic cycling race is watched by more than 3 billion people on TV, while around 12 million spectators will line the route to see the peloton whizz by from the roadside.

Did you know, during the course of the race each rider will sweat enough to flush a toilet 39 times? Or that the peloton will collectively burn through almost 800 tyres?
