Nepal: One Year On

When the first earthquake struck Nepal last April (2015), we immediately launched an emergency earthquake appeal and got the ball rolling with a £15,000 donation. The overwhelming support from our clients flooded in and they managed to raise a phenomenally generous £274,000 – by far exceeding anyone’s expectations.

Managing Director Pete Burrell flew out to Kathmandu, and with the support and input from staff and friends in Nepal, they devised a plan of action to distribute the aid most effectively, focussing on medium to long term rebuilding in rural areas where many big aid agencies can’t reach.

The biggest single event was the recent three-day medical camp in the mountains, where well over 1,000 patients were treated, many of whom had walked for two days to receive treatment. To find out more about our work in Nepal over the past year, please visit our Earthquake News page.
