This was a great opportunity to bike and see Sri Lanka (even impacted by a typhoon) but marred by a seriously inadequate ebike. It was underpowered at best, power on my bike and another one cut out on occasion and the governor at 25 kph makes an ebike worse than useless since one has to pedal a heavy bike hard to stay up with the group sometimes doing 27-28 kph on good roads. After my complaints, guide Surech stried to help and swapped out my bike for a slightly better powered but much heavier urban stile bike but it was not really an improvement.
And I had a very heavy urban ebike on an Exodus Japan tour last year that I complained about with little result.

Visiting Annapurna Base Camp is a tough trek because of all the steps. The trek leader Tenzi was amazing and thanks also to the encouragement from guide Hare and the support of the porters. For me it was the trip of a lifetime to see up close the beauty of the Himalayas and the welcoming Nepalese people.
Chuilli to Annapurna base camp the bamboo forest and small settlements back down to Siwai
Tenzi is very attuned to the group needs. Endured good breaks/water breaks/paced trek to fit our needs & to sis acclimatisation to the altitude. Made every effort to get extra rooms where possible!!! Great company & very knowledgeable. Enabled all in the group to fully enjoy the trip and the days at the end in Pokhara
We liked the itinerary which gave us a comprehensive experience of the different locations we visited.
Seeing such epic historical places come to life, The Great Wall, the Terracotta Army and the Forbidden City.
Kris was friendly and approachable and a committed guide who was determined to impart her knowledge and ensure the group had a wide and full experience of the Chinese culture. Her organisational skills were excellent and everything ran perfectly making it a stress free time. She imparted her knowledge of her culture in an accessible and interesting way. She was generous with her time and worked over and above to ensure all our needs were met.
A truly exceptional tour leader in Biju along with a really nice bunch of fro travellers made for an exceptional experience
Tea plantation; visiting the synagogue in Kochi,; the family home cooking evening; the house boat trip through the backwaters
I have been in more than10 Exodus trips since the 1990s; I have always been happy with the tour leader but Biju was truly exceptional, the best I have known. Knowledgeable, helpful, great attention to details and the welfare of all group members as well as being a thoroughly nice man, he really made this trip a 10/10 experience.
Great guide, comfortable transport, trip met all expectations, excellent lodgings
Guide with expert knowledge of the area and his ability to locate the wildlife. Seeing the rainforest and animals
As stated he was excellent and responsive to the needs of the group and helpful with any difficulties we had with an ability to sort these out without hesitation.
This is a very varied trip from the beautiful buildings in Quito to the unique Galápagos Islands. Heights of Cotopaxi to Amazon jungle. It is challenging at times especially on the Amazon jungle walk, this was not an easy stroll through a path in the jungle it was at times very steep and very slippery. Well worth it though to then enjoy the visit to AmaZoonico.
Boat journeys between the Galapagos islands are long especially between San Cristóbal and Floriana. I personally saw no enhancement to the trip in stopping at this island and would have preferred more time on Isabella. Due to boat times there was no real free time to explore this lovely village.
Trip notes are pretty inaccurate and need an overhaul especially the first week.
I think visiting the devils cauldron waterfall and going behind the cascade of water, the absolute power of nature is breathtaking. Snorkelling and coming face to face with a playfull sea lion or turtle was pretty amazing
We had two leaders one on the mainland who was, I feel, not really up to the job. She was knowledgeable and passionate about her country but organisation and timekeeping was sadly lacking meaning we were mostly late to our destinations cutting any “free” time we had to look about where we were staying. Changes to hotel were not communicated to us prior to arrival, we were disappointed arriving in Banos to find we were staying at a different hotel that did not offer the same facilities as hotel on the trip notes. At the airport she was unaware of current import rules applicable to Galápagos which could have been a disaster for some of the group who had no WiFi connection to allow them to complete customs declaration. In the Galápagos we had Wilson who is a Galápagos guide and was the complete opposite. Kept trip moving to schedule and listened to the needs of the group tweeting the irony where necessary to make the most of out time on the islands. There was a lot of snorkel stops on which Wilson always joined us in the water along with another colleague to ensure none of us encountered any problems whilst in the water.
Pack for every weather situation. I found a cape was more use than a waterproof jacket especially on the Amazon. Accommodation was in the main basic with the exception of papallacta and Santa Cruz, I do note however the price of this trip has increased considerably so perhaps the standard of accommodation will also improve. I felt the standard of accommodation offered on this trip fell well below the usual exodus “classic” rating. There are plenty of good and reasonably priced restaurants around hotels (except Amazon) most of the hotels we stayed in did not offer evening dining facilities. In Galápagos most of us hired shortie wetsuits which I was grateful for as water was quite cold!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that aspects of your experience on the mainland did not meet your expectations. Daniela, your guide, has led many Exodus trips and is a knowledgeable and capable leader, however, it is disappointing to note that her organisation and communication on this occasion did not meet the expectations you’ve come to expect from Exodus. We apologise for any impact this had on your overall enjoyment and can confirm that your feedback will be shared with the local team to help improve processes and ensure that customers on future trips are better supported.
Regarding the hotel in Baños, we are sorry to hear that Isla de Baños did not meet your expectations. After reviewing this departure, we noted that La Floresta was unfortunately fully booked at the time of your stay. In such situations, we source an alternative hotel of the same category and star rating, which is why Isla de Baños was arranged. Our trip notes do state that listed hotels may be substituted with “or similar,” but we fully recognise that this change should have been communicated to you in advance. We will be reviewing our internal processes to ensure that any future hotel substitutions are clearly and proactively communicated to travellers.
Furthermore, we recognise the challenges you experienced with the new customs declaration requirements at the airport. Although our leaders are provided with updated guidance, the process is still evolving locally and has been causing difficulties for many travellers, especially when WiFi access is limited. We understand how worrying and inconvenient it can be to face unclear procedures at such a crucial stage of the journey, and we are very sorry that this affected your experience. Please be assured that we are monitoring these changes closely with our local partners so we can provide clearer information and better support for future departures.
Thank you once again for sharing such valuable feedback as it plays an important role in helping us strengthen communication, improve consistency, and ensure a more seamless experience for all future travellers.

Excellent trip Johnny Villalobas brilliant. An amazing source of information from natural world to history. Very supportive and instructive plus gentle guidance!
Multiple! Starting with Tortuguero and finishing with Savegre Valley
JB was brilliant, informative, responsive to questions and a mine of information on every aspect. Plus supportive to individual needs.
The most stunning trek you can imagine. The Himalaya’s really are great cathedrals of nature. Walk alongside 3 of the top 10 peaks in the world, with an itinerary set up to ensure you succeed at altitude and make it over the amazing Thorong La Pass at 5,416m. Most competitors do the trek in 2 weeks, missing large sections or not acclimatising properly – the 22 day version means you complete (just about) everything.
The whole group reaching the top of the Thorong La Pass on a stunning blue shy and snow covered floor, together.
Sam was outstanding.
You do need to be fit - 17 days of back to back trekking with over 11,000m of ascent and decent is not for the faint hearted. But if you like a challenge, enjoy walking, then this has to be one of the most amazing treks in the world.
My wife Cristina and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Morocco. The trip was interesting, but it became even more fabulous thanks to our leader, Mohamed Ait Lmoud.
picnic lunch at a family house
He was faboulous
A trip worth repeating.
Good throughout fast paced at the beginning followed by a more relaxed ending which suited me perfectly. Everything explained well and excellent communication from Mohamed on the daily routine
The hikes all of them, visiting people in their homes and the welcome received, Volubilis, Essaouira all the medinas and kasbahs, the desert experience, the food.
Mohamed was a great tour leader, he is organised, unflappable, kind, thoughtful and his knowledge is incredible and he is enthusiastic and supportive of everyone on the trip. He dealt with a vehicle breakdown incredibly on a national holiday and without panic or anxiety. I like that all the places, guides and hotels held him in high esteem which shows he abilities to communicate well with everyone. His daily WhatsApp of the day ahead were very good and useful to me.
