Botswana Wildlife and Wilderness
EXcellent guides, good wildlife, Too much driving in an inappropriate vehicle which was too crowded. Savuti campsite too far form game viewing area.
Most Inspirational Moment
Helicopter over Vic Falls
Seeing wild dogs
Thoughts on Group Leader
WE had two guides and two helpers. One excellent and the other did not seem to really do much except sit in the passenger seat of the Toyota. Most trips only have one guide.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be prepared for a lot of time in=on the road and this limits the number game viewing opportunities.
Reply from Exodus
We would like to thank Gordon for his review. We use a stretched 4WD vehicle on this tour as we have found it to best suited to the road conditions, but are sorry Gordon didn’t find it comfortable. By law we are required to have a Botswana guide accompany our groups, and also have a tour leader to oversee logistics but who is also a qualified wildlife guide. They share responsibilities between them. The exact camp we use in the various areas are allocated by the Botswana government so can vary from one trip to the next. Even if the campsite is not always right next to the park boundaries, wildlife is found all over; in fact, the area around this particular campsite is one of the best areas to see wild dogs. Alison, in her review above, gives a good explanation of the set-up of the Savuti campsite in some detail.

SOUTH AFRICAN WALKING SAFARI
Having walked in every continient and completed 11 Exodus trip I feel reasonably well qualified to judge that three of the walks we did on the trip should be included in anyones top day walks of the world. Knowledgeable local staff had the language skills for me to learn more about African wildlife on this trip than two previous safaris. This trip comes very highly recommended by me.
Most Inspirational Moment
Sharing in the groups euphoria of completing the chain ladder part of walk to the second highest waterfall in the world.
Thoughts on Group Leader
We had two. Both were encyclopedic in their knowledge of their counrty and it's wildlife. They could not have done more for us.

Classic Inka Trail
The Inka Trail is a lovely trek. Beautiful and varied scenery throughout, with the added bonus of seeing Machu Pichu at the end. Cusco is beautiful and the people were lovely. A very enjoyable trip.
Most Inspirational Moment
The spectacular scenery along the Inka Trail, particularly on days 2 and 3.
Thoughts on Group Leader
The group leader was excellent. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the country and the Inkas. He went above and beyond his duties to make sure we all had an enjoyable trip.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Expect to take it easy for a couple of days when you arrive to acclimatise to the altitude.
Reply from Exodus
The whole customer experience, from booking your trip, to the flight, and the holiday itself is very important to us. We appreciate your comments regarding the group flights and are considering alternative options for next year, whilst maintaining our competitive Inca Trail package prices.

This was an excellent trip. It was well planned and well executed. Wilbert Ramos was always ahead of the game and made the trip easy in many ways

Waking up in the morning and seeing the range of mountains in front if me.

Advice for Potential Travellers
Drink water, be ready to climb many steps, take enough warm clothes and enjoy the experience.

Walking the Amalfi Coast
This was a great holiday combining walking with seeing the area and visiting some sites such as Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius. The views were spectacular and the walks well planned and thought out.
Most Inspirational Moment
Walking the crater of Mt Vesuvius.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Christina was fabulous. She is a lovely person, a wealth of knowledge about the area and managed to work with the varied ages and personalities in our group. It was great having an English guide who was Italian speaking and who obviously was loved and respected by the local villagers but understood our needs as well.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Lots of steps! August is very hot and the Amalfi area is very busy with Italians on holiday.. I felt it added to the atmosphere but not all may agree with this.

Walking the Amalfi Coast
This was an amazing trip that allowed you to see so much of the Amalfi coast within a week. There were 4 days of hiking, all great walks in their own right that were so different from one another. We would usually begin the walking in the mid-morning, reach our destination by mid or late afternoon, then be rewarded with a delicious dinner later that night at our hotel. It was my first time travelling with Exodus, and I will definitely travel with them again in the future. I thoroughly recommend Exodus and can now understand why quite a few of my fellow travellers in this group told me that it was their 20th trip with Exodus and they have not yet had one they did not enjoy. One goes on an Exodus trip twice a year and said they were all unique and positive experiences.
Most Inspirational Moment
Hiking to the top of Mt Vesuvius was definitely the highlight of the trip. To be able to walk all the way around the volcano as well as go inside the crater was such a special moment that won't be forgotten
Thoughts on Group Leader
Christine was the best tour leader I have ever had on a trip. Never have I met someone who was so informative and passionate about Italy, she knew so much and was so interesting! She made the time to make everyone feel included and welcome. It happened to be my birthday on this trip and she got everyone to sign a birthday card and organised a delicious birthday cake for me which was so kind and thoughtful. Thank you Christine for making this such an enjoyable and memorable trip!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Good sneakers or hiking boots are a must. Hiking poles make the trails more comfortable, but are not imperative. The national park hiking trail had a lot of bugs, so bug spray is needed as well as a fan or something to swat the bugs away while you are walking. The hike to Mt Vesuvius meant at the end of the walk our shoes were very dusty, I suggest bringing a small towel that day just to clean your feet when you have the chance. A small towel was great on the hot summery days just to wipe off when you finished the walk and were heading into the towns like Amalfi and Positano.

Vietnam August 2014
Our best holiday ever. We were looked after from the moment we arrived in Ho Chi Minh to when we left Saigon. The scenery, organisation, accomodation, food and cycling were superb. Having visited many Asian countries before, Vietnam is definitely my favourite. This was our first cycling holiday and also our first group tour and we will definitely be back for more.
Most Inspirational Moment
It is impossible to come up with one inspirational moment as there were so many of them. High Fiving children in villages and the shouts of Hello from them has to be up there, along with the open air dentist surgery we passed.
Perhaps the most surreal moment was when one of the local farmers stopped working to take a photo of us - shows how few tourists travel on some of these routes
Thoughts on Group Leader
Lam was great. His enthusiasm, sense of humour, passion just shone through. He was very safety conscious but did not let it get in the way of us having fun . His recomendations of places to eat and dishes to try were always spot on. His knowledge of the route and the history was huge and he was also patient enough to teach us some key vietnamese words and phrases.
Credit also has to go to the rest of the Exodus team who were always welcoming us with much need refreshments at every stop
Advice for Potential Travellers
Think about how you carry your camera so that it is quickly accessable whilst riding without getting in the way and make sure the camera battery is fully charged for the start of each day.

Cycling the Drakensberg and Kruger
If you love South Africa and cycling this is an excellant trip to do- the scenery is stunning and the wildlife spectacular. This unique tour combines enjoyment and a challenge to physical fitness with many experiences of the south african culture along the way.
Most Inspirational Moment
Was seeing first hand on a quiet dirt track in the Kruger Park a cheetah walking in front us, and then making a glance back to our vehicle before disappearing into the bush. This memory so special will remain with me.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader Tallis was excellant for this trip extremly knowledgeable both on his home country but the wildlife he is clearly so passionate about. Our safety was paramount and every effort was made to ensure that our trip was a memory to treasure.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Judge if possible the right time of year to avoid cycling in the heat and of course the insects- Early August was good for me

Borneo wildlife Discoverer
The holiday was well planned in regards to maximising the best opportunities to see wildlife however the stays in Mulu ( bats and caves) and Kuching (city) were too long in my view . Great news though Exodus are looking to change this .
We saw 6 wild urangutans and sightings at the sanctuaries were limited due to trees fruiting late . It is possible to do all 3 sanctuaries at sepilok in the one day .
Most Inspirational Moment
"Car park urangutan" we literally got out off the bus to be told by a driver that there was a mother and baby in the trees ,to be honest I thought he was playing a trick on us but there they were!
Bako was great - like your own little adventure and it would be great to be able to stay here in the future .
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our guide Rony was great always smiling and very knowledgeable in regards to the animals and culture of Borneo.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Remember the small animals - we have great photos of insects and make the most of the hornbills early on as we didn't see many of them towards the latter part of the holiday.

Highlights of Madagascar
There were only six of us on the trip so this was a real bonus. It meant that we had lots of room in the minibus and when being guided around we could spend a long time viewing the wildlife. Saw more than was mentioned in the trip notes and spent longer in the national parks as being a small group we all agreed on what we wanted.
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing lemurs in their natural environoment.
Snorkelling on Nosy Ve
Thoughts on Group Leader
The holiday was really well organised by our tour leader Armel. He even worked on days when he really did not have to as when we had free time he still guided us around the towns. He was enthusiastic about finding lemurs and making sure we could all get a good view of them. Great tour leader enthusiasic and knowledgeable about the country and wildlife.
He spoke excellent English and always wanted to make our holiday as enjoyable as possible.
Advice for Potential Travellers
There is a lot of driving but the days are broken up with visits to national parks, so not as onerous as it sounds in the notes. However the last few days from leaving the beach to arriving home is very tiring and for a couple of days there was not much to see in Tulear and Antananarivo
