Cycling in Sicily

The trip was excellent from start to finish. Great guide, good bikes with great gearing and the route, hotels and restaurants were well thought out.

Most Inspirational Moment

The group gelled really well and the guide was brilliant. He gave lots of interesting information and arranged for us to eat in excellent restaurants and bars. He really worked hard to create a bond between us all. The cycling was good too. The day up the mountain was hard but worth it.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He couldn't have been better. Excellent English and a great knowledge of Sicily. He recommended excellent places to eat and always worked hard to create a bond between the group. Safety on the bikes was brilliant and he always checked we rode safely and responsibly.

Hiking the Dolomites

Excellent communication and easy booking process. All questions answered in the literature and documents provided. Brilliantly organised whilst away, excellent knowledgeable guides and wonderful hiking.

Most Inspirational Moment

Too many to choose! The hikes, the views, the food and the group in general.

Thoughts on Group Leader

I couldn't fault either Jenny or Mark. Both incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Friendly, approachable and good fun. I felt safe in their hands and became a better hiker learning from them. They organised and guided the group brilliantly throughout the week. Would love to book a further trip with them as leaders.

Wholesome experience in the Italian Apennine Mountains

Beautiful scenery (from the wilderness areas to the villages), great company and wonderful food in the Abruzzo region of the Apennines. The walks were a fantastic introduction to the area and highlighted the wide array of plants and animals, with beautiful trees and plenty of wildflowers. We spent peaceful moments watching for wildlife, spotting chamois, wild boar and a distant pack of wolves. The trip profits are donated to Rewilding Apennines to support their diverse conservation efforts which makes the experience that much better!

Most Inspirational Moment

It was wonderful to learn about the conservation efforts of the Rewilding Apennines team. It is a multi-faceted project and it was a real privilege to be shown camera trap footage of the many different rare and endangered mammal species that call the area home.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Filippo was an inspiration. He showed his passion for the region and its wildlife and ecosystems every step of the way. He has so much knowledge of the plants, animals and even the geology of the area and encouraged a sharing of our own experiences and knowledge from around the world.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Savour and enjoy the peacefulness of the whole experience while watching for rare wildlife and hopefully you will get lucky.

Essential Peru - Inti Raymi Festival Departure

Carlos our guide was exceptional, enhancing the Essential Peru trip with extensive local knowledge and clear information about the plan for each day. He was very attentive to how individuals were coping with changes in altitude – excellent support throughout. Each day was memorable. The scenery is amazing. June was a fantastic month to experience Cusco, with daily festivals. The Inti Raymi event was fabulous. More than 1000 participants delivered a stunning, colourful, rhythmical, moving display that felt authentic. We had great vantage points for the ticketed parts of the event (first and third part of the festival) with excellent commentary by our trip guide. I benefitted from adding on an extra day either side of the trip in Lima to start the trip refreshed and to wind down after. It is a full on trip with some early starts and long coach journeys but there is so much to experience in Peru I am glad the schedule is as varied and extensive as it is. So many highlights – Machu Piccu is particularly memorable but a flight over the Nazca lines (extra trip), the festival, seeing the Condors, staying with a family on Lake Titicaca all come a close second. Good food throughout for vegetarians.

Most Inspirational Moment

This felt like 3 holidays in one - the highlights kept coming!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lukas was very informative, energetic and enthusiastic!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Relatively flat route and distances were not overwhelming so this trip would be a good one for those wanting to find out what a cycling tour is like. That, plust the history and scenery makes this an attractive choice.

Highlights of Sicily

Fantastic trip. Have done many trips with Exodus. Always well organised and take in many great sights & experiences

Most Inspirational Moment

So many but the historical sites, buildings and the food stand out.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent leader. Very entertaining and keen to ensure we had the opportunity to experience all Sicily had to offer.

Amazing People and Places, But Execution Fell Short in Spots

My thoughts on this trip are a bit mixed.

Pros:
Our tour guide, Veriano, was fantastic—funny, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable. He was truly one of the best parts of the trip. He took great care of us and paced the itinerary well, allowing us to see and experience a lot without feeling rushed. Having him handle all the logistics in advance was a huge benefit—it allowed us to maximize our time and fully enjoy each location. One highlight was the convertible bus ride from Amalfi, which he arranged as a surprise—absolutely unforgettable! I also really enjoyed the group of fellow travelers—such kind, interesting people who added so much to the experience.

Cons:
Working with Exodus was more challenging than expected. Their process seems geared primarily toward travelers from the UK, especially when it comes to flights and logistics, so coming from elsewhere was more complicated and less cost-effective. The trip also got off to a rocky start—the initial tour leader who was supposed to meet us at the airport was 40 minutes late, and no one from Exodus or the local team contacted us. It left several of us wandering the airport, unsure of what to do. Thankfully, things improved significantly once we connected with Veriano.

I had mixed feelings about the hotel (Hotel Due Torri). There was rarely anyone at reception, which made it difficult to get assistance when needed. Meals were served in a large, hot, noisy dining room where the hotel owner’s dog frequently barked, and the breakfast staff came across as unhappy and even dismissive—at one point, a breakfast staff member made fun of one of us in Italian saying, “I guess she can’t read”. That said, there were bright spots—Salvatore and a few other team members were warm and welcoming, and the cooking demonstrations were enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food itself didn’t measure up to other meals I’ve had in Italy.

Like many travel experiences, this trip had both highlights and lowlights. Overall, I’m grateful for the opportunity and the wonderful people I met, but I’d likely consider a different travel company in the future.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and balanced review. We’re delighted to hear that Veriano made such a positive impact on your experience—his attention to detail, humour, and care for the group truly embody the spirit of Exodus. The surprise convertible bus ride sounds like a fantastic highlight, and we’re glad you had a great group of fellow travellers to share the journey with.

We’re sorry to hear that the start of the trip and some logistical aspects didn’t go as smoothly. Your feedback about the airport pickup and the challenges for non-UK travellers is important, and we’ll be reviewing these processes to improve clarity and support for all guests, regardless of origin.

We also appreciate your comments on Hotel Due Torri. While we’re pleased to hear that some staff members like Salvatore helped create enjoyable moments, we regret that other elements—such as reception availability, breakfast service, and food quality—fell short of expectations. This feedback will be shared with our accommodation team to help guide future improvements.

Thank you again for travelling with us and for your honest reflections. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide a more seamless experience next time.

Kenya Safari Adventure

I have traveled through Exodus before (International Expeditions back in 2012), and was amazed by the incredible service, knowledge of the area and wildlife, and attention to travel accommodations. The same aspects of professionalism and experience-oriented guides were present on my trip to Kenya and I am grateful for the time experience.

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing four lion prides, and an attempted cheetah hunt!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Peter brought professionalism and experience-oriented leadership throughout our entire trip to Kenya and I am grateful for it. I would suggest that patrons tip their guides after each game drive so that we can actively reward great practices and efforts put forth by our guides rather than waiting until the very end of the trip.

Fjords

This trip was very good regarding place, people, guide, food and hikes. It was true to level 3 hiking.

Most Inspirational Moment

Glacier hike/trip.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Flo was GREAT. He truly made this trip what it was. Kind, patient. He was attentive to everyone’s needs, monitored everyone during hikes, knowledge of area was top notch. I can’t say enough good things about Flo as a guide/leader.

Advice for Potential Travellers

DO THE glacier walk/hike if you go on this trip. Costs extra but DO IT. It is worth every penny - when will you get another chance possibly! The food AMAZING - much better than anticipated, 3 course meals at dinner. READ TRIP NOTES - the NES Gard facility DOES have shared bathrooms for single people even if you pay single supplement. Norway is a beautiful country worth visiting if you love nature. The hiking in my opinion was very doable - level 3 but lower level 3. The pace was not fast at all, everyone was able/capable on our tour. I would highly recommend this trip.
