The excursions were fun. I enjoyed all the people in our group. Food was good and plentiful. The family that runs the hotel did not seem very friendly. The sister in-law of one of the brothers was very annoying, when she speaks she screams. The family always ate next us in the dining room, she was horrible, our guide even asked her to pipe down. The staff was fantastic. Nice grounds but barely a 3 star.

The hike on The path of the Gods. Beautiful.

Sevi was great a little brash, but I enjoyed him. Very helpful.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be prepared to do some walking, I went in the 2nd week in June it was warm. Beautiful trip overall.
Well organised, very good communication and always have good local guides

Several highlights - sleeping in a yurt was very special. Seeing Ragistan square in Samarkand was a breathtaking experience. We loved staying in Bukhara and Khiva
Thoughts on Group Leader
Both leaders were absolutely fantastic - organised, great communication skills, very knowledgeable about countries and history. They interacted with the group with good humour, respect and a caring attitude - both brilliant. I would also like to mention our fantastic driver Valerie in Kyrgyzstan - he was amazing especially driving up and down mountain to yurt camp on unmade roads thick with mud. He was a star!
The Five Stans of the Silk Road - Ashgabat to Almaty
Excellent organisation. Knowledgeable – and flexible – guides. Interesting activities. Small group. A truly memorable holiday.
Most Inspirational Moment
Uzbekistan was generally the most evocative element, with Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand. However, Khyrgystan was - in a different manner - also memorable. That is not to say that the white city of Ashkabat (and the Parthian site at Nisa), or the stunning mountain scenery of Tajikistan, or the cool Western style culture of Almaty were less than enjoyable. A great trip.
Thoughts on Group Leader
It is hard to identify one person, especially when 3 of them were only with us for a relatively short time. However, Tahir was an excellent guide, who stayed with us for a number of days, and imparted a calm efficiency - and kindness - especially on the train journey from Khiva. Svetlana - in Kyrgyzstan was also very helpful and flexible.
Enjoyed the overal experience walking through fab meadows and countryside. Did test my abiliy at some points. The guest house was very clean and staff very helpfull. The food was plentiful and very good fresh quality. The guide Leo was extremely knowledgeable & helpful during our walks. Met with a wide of wildlife and seeing the bears at the sanctury and in the hide.
Most Inspirational Moment
The meadows walk on the first day - glorious. Seeing 3 bear cubs with mum at the hide and learning about the sanctury. Walking through the gorges and going up into the pastures, on one day to have Polenta and cheese balls picnic and a treat at the cabin further on in the week. Excellent food and a small group of 12 was plenty.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Very good at his job able to respond to requests and accommodate individual needs for their health & wellbeing on achieving the walks
I like to travel on my own (ie without friends or family) and yet be part of a group. I tend to find that I’m on the same wavelength as most Exodus travellers and I’m saved the trouble of having to arrange everything myself. There is a variety of destinations, many of which I have visited on my 21 trips with Exodus and I have already spread the word amongst friends and acquaintances. The guides are usually very good, as are the drivers. The accomodation tends to be comfortable.
Most Inspirational Moment
The Palio Museum in Sienna. The wine tastings and pasta making. Wandering around the two small towns where there weer fewer tourists.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Tommaso spoke good English and went out of his way to ensure we were happy. He joined in where appropriate and left us to our own devices when we wanted to wander. He was very knowledgeable and was happy to elaborate on anything we wanted to know. An excellent leader.
Well organised. Descriptions in Trip Notes match reality on the ground. Makes it easy to just turn up each day and walk.
Most Inspirational Moment
Optional Mount Pico walk. Going to 3 islands with ferries as well as flights. Food. Group dynamic. Great guide
Thoughts on Group Leader
Passionate about his home islands. Knowledgeable on birds, flora, fauna, volcanology, minerals. Caring guide who supported anyone struggling with hills or technical walking. Relaxed, friendly, helpful, excellent all round.
Very interesting, covering a lot of ground. Beautiful countryside and great experiences.
Most Inspirational Moment
Gjirokaster and Berat for the beautiful old towns. The journeys in the mountains - stunning scenery. The wine and the craic with the group. The hotel in the national park with the deer and large cats.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Very knowledgeable, passionate about his country and imparting information. Kind and thoughtful. Made it personal with his own anecdotes. Shared his fruit with us. Always planning ahead. Good voice projection. Took a while to get accustomed to his way of saying things at times, but that is normal. Excellent vocabulary - it was the 'easy' words he sometimes forgot. Always on the go.
Great itinerary, good reputation, well organised, tour leader fantastic, helpful staff both at initial enquiry (Catryn) and subsequent queries (Hayley).
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing the Condors flying close up at Colca Canyon, seeing a volcano eruption and the flight over the Nazca Lines
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was tremendous and undoubtedly helped to enhance the overall experience of the holiday. His knowledge was phenomenal on an array of topics about Peru, he was a very warm and engaging character and showed concern if anyone in the group was feeling unwell. His logistical skills with timings etc were spot on and he organised the additional activities such as the Nazca Lines trip very efficiently.
Our guides were excellent, the combination of activities was excellent, accommodation was very good, transport was well organised. We are very impressed with our first experience with Exodus.
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing Bornean elephants in the wild at the Kinabatangan River, seeing the wild orangutan at Tabin, the bat exodus at Mulu, the orangutan sanctuary and sun bear sanctuary at Sepilok. Staying in accommodation immersed in the rain forest in each place, the Tabin Wildlife reserve, staying in the longhouse- and I could go on!

Both Nizam and Jeffry were amazing guides. Their wildlife knowledge, spotting skills and enthusiasm for the wildlife were outstanding. They dealt with us courteously, with good humour, taking very good care of us and checking in with us regularly. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best experience possible. They were superb guides, thank you to both of them.
