Wonderful tour

I did this tour in June 2026 and enjoyed it so much, inspire of having no experience cycling on the open road. The tour guide Matteo was wonderful, and I felt very safe and well looked after. The accommodation was very good, the first accomodation at Feudo Bauly was superb, I only regretted not staying there for couple of nights before the tour started. Beautiful pool. A very friendly group on the tour as well, mixed ages and all socialised together really well, with Mateo joining us for group dinners at terrific restaurants he knew. I will definitely book another cycling tour with Exodus again.

Most Inspirational Moment

All the towns we visited were beautiful and had great restaurants and were not crowded even though peak season. Noto and Modica in particular.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Matteo was an excellent, he escorted his group of ducklings along some quite busy roads and down some steep descents ensuring all the time we were keeping up and safe. Sebastian, the van driver also did a fabulous job, providing icy water at every stop and helping with intersection crossings. Both men were very attentive and the whole group was very appreciative.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I was glad I had bought hi vis cycling gloves and good bike shorts. It was hot being June, but I like the heat coming from Australia and I was riding an e bike, whilst half of the group rode regular bikes. The rest of my group were all far more experienced than me, but I kept up well. I bought very light bright trekking T shirts and had little luggage. Don't forget your swimmers!! :)

Lovely area to cycle but bikes not suitable for the terrain

Istria is lovely and the cycle routes were great, lots of quiet roads and some lovely tracks (along the disused Parenzana railway line). However, the bikes were ‘sit up and beg’ city-style bikes and totally unsuitable for sandy, rocky tracks, particularly in the wet. If you are using a pedal bike, I strongly recommend that you ask Exodus to source you a mountain bike which would make this holiday much safer and more enjoyable. Note that the guide rides an ebike!

Most Inspirational Moment

Tasting real truffles in the area where they grow was fantastic, the wine tasting was a highlight and the descent to the castle ruins at Dvigrad was wonderful (beware, you have to cycle up a little way at the end of the descent so be prepared!)

Thoughts on Group Leader

Boban was very nice and personable. However, he lacks some of the skills that many of the Exodus cycling leaders use to make these holidays extra special. Whilst he provided a few little gems, it would have been great to learnt more about the history & culture of this wonderful area & country. Also, we went to fantastic places but weren’t always given the advice and time to make the most of them.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Ask for mountain bikes when you book the trip. Ask every day where you are going and look them up so you know which places you would like to explore, and ask for the time to do so

Very enjoyable tour - great history, cycling and cities

Perfect cycling roads and paths through forests and near the lovely coast – and once actually on the beach. Brilliant guides, extremely interesting history and varied food. So flat that it’s also suitable for non cyclists. A unique opportunity to experience three countries and cultures. Lucky to have such an interesting group too and I really appreciated spending time with non Brits! And I was really impressed with all 3 countries which achieved independence from the USSR only 35 years ago – and their transformation is inspirational.

Most Inspirational Moment

The whole trip was so enjoyable and interesting, so it is difficult to pick out a special moment. Maybe the trip to the Hill of Crosses in Lithuania.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lina was our leader for the first few days, from the start in Tallinn and then Andrius took over for the rest of the tour as we left Estonia. They were both absolutely excellent, with really detailed knowledge of the route, the cycling paths, the very interesting history, the food and the cities. They were both inspirational in different ways - with Andrius having an amazing sense of humour as well, which really appealed to me.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is a tour not to be missed, even for non cyclists - and e-bikes are available. A great way to experience three adjacent countries in an often forgotten part of Europe. I have come home better informed about their very difficult history and with a much greater appreciation of the area, including its beauty and friendly people.

Fantastic remote trekking in Ladakh

Wonderful trek with a super group and brilliant team to help on the way. The leader, guides and assistants really made the trip and it obviously wouldn’t be possible without all of their hard work. The days walking aren’t too long but the altitude does make it a challenge. Scenery is not bad either!

Sukman was extremely experienced and professional, so we knew we were in good hands from day one. His humour, knowledge and encouragement brought us together and got us over the pass and to the end of the trek safely, and especially when we were tired on longer days. I’m sure we’ll all miss his evening lessons over dinner about Buddhism and local culture, and the effort he and the trek team put in to make it an unforgettable couple of weeks!

Advice for Potential Travellers

You're unlikely to see anyone else on the route except for a few yak herders, so if you're keen on point to point trekking and want to get away from it all (and don't mind roughing it a bit!) then I can't recommend it enough.

Amazing

The Food was brilliant ! Thank you to MC who made sure all my allergies were taken care of and I never ever went hungry !
The tents were spacious and we could stand up in them , there was wifi at every camp and only one or two cold showers ! Brilliant food and wildlife throughout , scenic clean campsites and a great itinerary-very much exceeded our expectations! We had the most amazing time .

Etosha national park ! The first game drive we saw lion cubs and the zebras wondering in the campsite were so cool !

Shane was very insightful and especially knowledgeable when it came to locating animals in Etosha national park which made it particularly memorable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you have allergies do not hesitate to book . I was very worried coming on this trip about such needs but they really accommodate to the best they can and take the time to understand such dietary requirements to ensure you have the best time possible . Appreciate this isn’t always possible but from my experience MC was brilliant .

Views for days

This was one of the most spectacular walking holidays. The Dolomites are even more impressive in person, and walking among their jagged peaks gave me a real sense of adventure. I particularly enjoyed Tre Cime di Lavaredo and exploring Monte Piana. Hotel Adler provides a relaxing end to the day with excellent meals and a great drinks list.

Varied and interesting trip. So many highlights!

This trip was more than a holiday. It really helped you get under the skin of Sri Lanka and it’s people. From visiting temples and monuments, catching a sight of the varied wildlife or experiencing lunch with a local family, this trip really had it all. Whilst it was a full-on, busy tour, I still felt relaxed and refreshed upon my return home, mainly due to the fact that everything in the tour had been so well organised and planned. A plan B was ready for when the trek deemed not possible due to the rain and Roshan our tour leader took everything in his stride and made the guiding of the trip seem effortless.

Most Inspirational Moment

Visiting the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. I had never seen anything like it in my life before - hundreds, if not thousands of people watching and queuing to walk past the room holding the tooth, each bearing gifts of flowers. The smell of these filled the place and it was just a fascinating experience. Also visiting the elephant transit home - watching the baby elephants being fed and their expressions and different characters. So cute!

Roshan was absolutely the best group leader I have ever had on an Exodus tour! As I landed in Colombo he had already set up a WhatsApp group for the trip and was in reception of the hotel when I arrived. When things didn't go to plan with the weather he kept us in the loop with a possible alternative and when plan B had to be put into action the day went so smoothly due to his organisation.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Use the ATM at the airport to withdraw cash. As others have said - temple socks are a must to stop your feet from burning on the hot stones. It will probably rain at some stage during the trip but often this does not last long and the temperature is still high so rather than wearing a thick raincoat on the days when you are in towns or hopping on and off the bus, consider a thin plastic poncho - lighter to carry and will allow you to be a bit cooler than a raincoat. If in two minds about the white water rafting, go for the harder one as it really wasn't that challenging!

Beautiful Views

Great way to see the highlights of the Amalfi Coast. Absolutely stunning views and rich in history and culture. I would not classify this tour as “easy” however. I consider myself an athletic person and the amount of steps involved were incredible, and majority of steps were in rough shape that you really had to watch your step for fearing of falling or injuring yourself. Liked having one home base of the hotel for the week, except each day we needed to travel at least 30 min-1.5 hour to get anywhere, which lessened the day, not to mention in that sweltering heat most of the time the AC in the van did not appear to reach the back areas of the van. I felt I needed more ‘structured’ time – the free time was too much when I was in an area that I knew nothing of and did not know what to do with myself. I did not come to Italy to shop.

Path of the Gods was absolutely amazing. The terrain was more what I was expecting in a hiking tour.

He was friendly, but not always helpful. We mentioned that the packed lunch (consisting of meat and cheese) every day was in our backpacks for at least 3-4 hours without being kept cool in the hot sun, and he did not seem concerned.

Advice for Potential Travellers

While this was my first trip abroad in over 20 years, I did enjoy it. There were points about the hotel that you need to be aware of (annoying barking dog that seemed to come in every dinner, never any lounge chairs available as towels seemed to sit on them all day with no people, packed lunch consisted of a (massive) bun with meat and cheese with no cooling. Make no mistake of the stairs - they were a TON of them). Be aware (as I wasn't) Italy has no toilet seats, public restrooms were not pleasant (didn't appear they were maintained), and everything is expensive. If you can avoid it, do not go in the summer months - absolutely ridiculous amount of people.

By far an incredible experience!

The whole trip was absolutely outstanding. As a 17 year old soloing this adventure, I felt incredibly included and appreciated within the group which significantly added to the entire trip.

Honestly the most inspiring moments where being able to accomplish each day one at a time, even though some where tough, the views surely made up for it.

Our group leader “Rocia” was a wonderful person, very supportive and knowledgeable on all aspects of the trek.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I advise others wishing to take part in this trek to definitely ensure they have a pretty solid fitness standard. Most days are long and steep, one being 25km with high elevation though even at my basic fitness the whole team was very supportive with my pacing. All in all an amazing experience and definitely in the market to doing more like this in the future. 100% worth it :)
