Our first, but definitely after a fabulous week, not our last visit to the Algarve
See and hearing the huge waves crashing into the sundrenched cliffs and pristine beaches. Although seeing genuine local artisans at work and sampling the local produce was a close second.
Francisco and Rafael couldn't have looked after us better. Nothing was too much bother for them and their love and knowledge of Portugal and the Algarve in particular was so impressive.
Leave enough room in your case for the olive oil, pottery and wine you'll want to take home.
First cycling trip — we loved every part of this 5-day ride.
The never-ending, fascinating scenery — from the beaches to the hills on the final days. All destinations were amazing but Óbidos is one of our favourite.
João Colaço is an avid outdoor enthusiast with a passion for extreme sports. He is an excellent guide/leader sharing his knowledge and stories of this beautiful country.
We hadn’t cycled before in a group and chose the e-bike, which was spot-on for the final day.
This was a well organized trip in a remote region. Beautiful views and very quiet trails . The hikes are quite challenging with a good amount of exposure in certain sections. Jose, our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced and yes,he does make the best lunch sandwiches!
The accommodations were simple , comfortable with a great view.
Summitting Aitana!
Jose was experienced and efficient.
This is a challenging trip and the walking pace is quite fast. Good fitness level and training on hills prior to this trip are highly recommended.
The tour started in the rainforest in Borneo where we saw orangutans, monkeys, crocodiles and various birds. The river cruises on the impressive Kinabutangun river were awesome! The second part on the peninsula was wonderful for culture, beaches, wildlife and food!!!
I especially enjoyed the mangrove boat excursion as we saw so much wildlife and stopped to swim on a beautiful quiet beach.
Both Rony and Jason were excellent tour guides who are passionate about their job and proud of their country.
Go!
We were a group of nine mostly strangers to each other who bonded during this wonderful adventure. Francisco and Raphael could not have been better trip leaders. They were very gracious, helpful. knowledgeable and fun to be with. We did not just hike but about new Flora, Fauna, and Portuguese customs, including food, cork , olives, ceramics, wine and medrano distillation.
For me, visiting the olive oil producer, and tasting was number one followed by the Medrano plantation where we learned at a local custom of distilling the Medrano fruit
Francisco was fantastic! He was very friendly, organized and knowledgeable. No complaints. He kept us on task without making us feeling hurried. Great itinerary.
We were very fortunate with the weather, which was ideal for hiking. Not too hot and minimal rain. When we got to Sagres some of the restaurants were closed due to it being the end of the season.
This was a fun, educational and exhilarating trip. As usual, our Exodus guide (Mario), was out outstanding. Highly recommend this trip.
This was an incredible trip from start to finish, with some unforgettable memories. Our tour leader was Mohammed – a humble and lovely guide that was passionate about his country, people, and culture – this just enhanced the experience- and nothing was too much trouble. Our driver Ahmed (may have the incorrect spelling) was a careful and considerate driver, that went above and beyond too in helping the group. And Morocco – what an amazing country – steeped in history and wonder. Exodus certainly take you off the beaten track to some incredible and different experiences! Thank you so much!
The gite in the Atlas Mountains
Not a bad word to say - Mohammed went above and beyond to ensure that the group had a wonderful and safe experience!
Read the trip notes so that you come prepared to immerse yourself in this wonderful country!
Great holiday from start to finish. Varied itinerary – I felt as if we’d covered a lot of ground & gained a good insight into the various areas/culture etc of Chile.
Seeing the sun come up & from my bedroom window & shine on the mountains in Torres del Paine. It took my breath away.
Miguel was amazing. One of the best guides I’ve had anywhere in the world. He was very organised & made sure we were informed of the next days arrangements/timings the night before. Very knowledgeable on his country & imparted a lot of local knowledge as we travelled around. Nothing was too much trouble for him.
There were some very early mornings & long drives, although there are plenty of stops. There were 5 internal flights but these were well organised & we saw some fab scenery from the plane. The surroundings & amazing scenery make up for this.
Start to finish this was a fantastic trip. Our guide Clifford shared his deep knowledge of everything: animals and birds, trees and flowers, South African history and culture, hiking trail specifics and the smallest details about life in South Africa and Eswatini. Plus he was caring and kind and fun to be with. I really feel like I gained an understanding of the real South Africa because of Clifford and also the variety of experiences on this trip. We saw all the animals we had hoped to see, the hiking was challenging and extremely rewarding. The Drackensburg hikes were exceptional – scenery that is so beautiful that words and pictures cannot capture it. Even being there, on top of the “Amphitheatre”, the grandeur, the immensity of the views, were impossible to truly fathom. Wow.
Being on top of the Amphitheatre - the massive escarpment that makes up the spine of the Drackensburgs. Also, witnessing a pride of lions devouring a recently killed Cape Buffalo.
The absolute best we've ever had (of 7 Exodus trips).
The hiking is more challenging than "moderate", with technical aspects like crossing fast flowing rivers and climbing a 100 foot chain ladder up a cliff face.
