Stunning Sardinia!

A week of walking around Sardinia and learning about the amazing history of the Nuragic people who lived in the area!

Most Inspirational Moment

Making the steep climb up jagged rocks to arrive at Tiscali to see the remains of a hidden Nuragic village! Seeing the many murals at Orgosolo and eating a simple meal of bread, cheese and wine in a vineyard!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Michele was full of energy and enthusiasm; he certainly kept us on our toes all week! He arranged to drive us around 3 of the smaller villages on his day off which was a lovely day and gives an indication of how committed he was for us to enjoy ourselves!

Advice for Potential Travellers

We have completed 5 European walking holidays now with Exodus and this trip is far more technical than the previous ones by far! Prepare for narrow, stony paths and scrambles over sharp rocks, often in high temperatures but it is well worth the effort for amazing views and a glimpse in to the past!

Exceeded our expectations

A well organised tour of this fascinating country. We visited contrasting places -cities, archaeological sites, coastal resorts and National Parks. We saw stunning scenery, and undertook routes that would be difficult to visit independently.
There’s little down-time, but that’s because there’s so much to see!

The meal prepared by the local family - some of the best food we ate. The hotel in Llogora National Park had a lovely surprise.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Artur was fantastic. His pride for his country shines through. He recommended local dishes, arranged bookings in authentic & well priced restaurants, helped with orders & bills. He exceeded normal Group Leader duties. Our driver Diu was great too, always smiled, impressively navigated the winding roads, and took some brilliant photographs. Artur & Diu definitely enhanced our holiday experience, and provided some lovely surprises along the way!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack lightly - you will be packing & unpacking most days. Take layers - it can be chilly in the morning & night, especially in the mountains. Read up a little on Albania's recent history, it will put the modern day country in to perspective. Don't over order food - portions are often large. If you can, stay an extra night in Kruje at the end of the trip. The hotel has a lovely setting, and Kruje is great to wander around after the day trippers have left.

A Trek to Remember!

As an Exodus staff member, walking the Camino de Santiago with Exodus was an unforgettable experience and a truly rewarding journey from start to finish. Each day brought stunning scenery, from rolling countryside and charming villages to historic towns steeped in culture and tradition. The balance of physical challenge, personal achievement, and time to soak up the atmosphere made every stage of the trek special. Sharing the experience with a supportive group of fellow walkers and a knowledgeable local guide added to the sense of camaraderie along the route. Arriving in Santiago de Compostela after days of walking was an incredible moment, filled with pride, reflection, and a real sense of accomplishment. It was a fantastic adventure that combined breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and lasting memories in equal measure.

Arriving at the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. Having finished the week-long pilgrimage, it was incredible to see hundreds of people experiencing the same sense of accomplishment for all different reasons.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Raul was amazing! A Camino veteran having done it multiple times over the last 30 years, Raul was able to make the group appreciate every step of the trek. This is the first trip I've done where it felt like our leader was doing the itinerary for more than just their job, Raul had a deep emotional connection to the Camino and helped others in the group find that as well.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Bring different footwear! With 6 back-to-back days of walking, it is a good idea to swap your shoes a couple of times in order to avoid blisters. Also, make sure to pack your waterproofs. Galicia has it's own little micro-climate and even though we went in August, it rained every day.

Get yourself to Jordan - it’s outstanding

From city life, Arabic culture, religious stories historically told through to truly ancient artefacts and sites. Breathtaking in every step.

The peace and serenity in wadi rum both day and night. Or Petra. Or mount nebo…… difficult to choose one!

Amer was simply outstanding - his knowledge on cultural, historical, political and religious context combined with expert and often humorous story telling.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This country is friendly, peaceful, safe and welcoming. It’s history is some of the worlds oldest and best preserved. You will return nourished and amazed.

Morocco at its best

As a member of the Exodus team, I was really excited to experience our Signature trip through Morocco, and it gave me a completely different perspective on the country. From the energy of Marrakech and the winding roads of the Atlas Mountains to the vast landscapes of the Sahara, there was so much variety packed into one journey.

What stood out most were the experiences that brought us closer to Moroccan culture. Exploring Marrakech by sidecar was a real group favourite, while other moments were much simpler and more personal. Lunch with a local family, visiting a women run cooperative and spending time at Saida’s home and farm gave us opportunities to experience the country beyond the usual sights.

The accommodation was another highlight. Each stay had its own character, from our riad tucked away in the Medina to our desert camp surrounded by the Sahara dunes. Finishing at Domaine de La Roseraie in the mountains was perfect. After such a full journey, having time to slow down, enjoy the gardens and pool and take in the surroundings was a wonderful way to end the trip.

Our guide, Hicham, brought a real warmth to the experience. Whether we were travelling, exploring or sitting around the table together, he made the group feel incredibly welcome and created a relaxed atmosphere throughout the trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were a few, but spending time with a local family was one of the moments that really stayed with me. We received such a warm welcome, shared an incredible meal and had the chance to experience a more personal side of Morocco. Our final day at Saida’s home and farm was another highlight, preparing traditional tagine, tea and bread together before sitting down for lunch. These were the moments where you felt less like you were simply visiting Morocco and more like you were experiencing it

Hicham was warm, personable and engaging, and his knowledge of Morocco added so much to the journey. His own Berber family background made some of the experiences particularly interesting, and he was great at bringing the group together. He joined us for meals, shared stories and created a really relaxed, almost family like atmosphere throughout the trip.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Morocco is a country of contrasts, and that’s what makes this trip so memorable. You’ll go from the buzz and colour of Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara and eventually the peaceful surroundings of Domaine de La Roseraie. There are some longer drives along the way, but they take you through some incredible landscapes and allow you to experience very different sides of the country. My biggest advice is to embrace the journey and come ready for the variety. Some of my favourite moments weren’t necessarily the big name sights, but the smaller cultural experiences, meals and conversations along the way.

Will hike for Prosecco!

If you think you’ve “done” Italy, think again. This trip takes you beyond the crowds to the rolling Prosecco Hills (a part of Italy I had never even heard of before coming to work at Exodus!), charming villages, family-run wineries, and hidden corners of Venice that most visitors never see. It’s the perfect blend of active exploration, incredible food and wine, and authentic local experiences.
We’re in the pre-Alps, so there are definitely some inclines and declines and uneven terrain, so make sure to save those Aperol spritzes for AFTER the hikes 🙂

Advice for Potential Travellers

Bring comfortable walking/hiking shoes, a camera, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen and a hat, but leave extra room in your bag to bring home some Prosecco!

RE: Terrific Tiziano – A True Sicilian Treasure!

Tiziano made our Sicilian journey memorable with his wonderful sense of humor, warmth, and impressive knowledge of the island’s history and culture. Personable, approachable, and always cheerful, he brought Sicily to life through his stories and enthusiasm. What made him particularly special was his genuine compassion. When I was unwell during the trip, he showed exceptional kindness, empathy, and concern for my well-being. His thoughtfulness meant a great deal to me. Tiziano is not only a terrific guide but also a truly lovely human being. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Hard things in scenic places with beautiful (souls) people

Highlights:
Sharing strudel, wine and company with remarkable, fun intentional adventurers – interesting and interested in others
Yellow-billed chough flying overhead against the blue skies.
Lago di Braies turquoise waters. Stopping for lunch and to take it all in.

Most Inspirational Moment

Visiting the sophisticated alpine town of Cortina on a mountain bike (off day) from Villabassa...towering limestone peaks, lakes and mossy pine forest growth, mountain air and cool damp air. Exhilarating.

Advice for Potential Travellers

prepare with long (3+ hour) walks/hikes at least a month or two in advance. pack light. layer. get to know your fellow adventurers.

Two Unforgettable Weeks Exploring the Wonders of Morocco...

Our two weeks in Morocco were truly memorable, with a wonderful mix of history, culture, stunning landscapes, and unique local experiences. From exploring the ancient medinas to riding camels in the Sahara and sharing meals with local families, every part of the journey offered something special. Our tour leader, Hassan, was exceptional. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine care for the group made the experience even better. We also enjoyed the company of our fellow travelers, making new friends and sharing stories along the way. A fantastic way to experience Morocco, and a trip we would highly recommend!

The most inspiring moments were visiting local families, sharing meals in their homes, and learning about their lives and traditions. Experiencing their warmth, hospitality, and generosity gave us a deeper appreciation of Moroccan culture and reminded us how much we have in common, despite our different backgrounds.

Hassan was an outstanding group leader. His deep knowledge of Morocco’s history, culture, and traditions, combined with his friendly personality and genuine enthusiasm, made the trip truly special. He went out of his way to ensure everyone had a great experience, arranging excellent local guides and memorable cultural encounters. He was approachable, attentive, and always willing to help. We could not have asked for a better guide!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Come with an open mind, a sense of adventure, and comfortable walking shoes! Be prepared for some long drives, but the changing landscapes and experiences make them worthwhile. Although Morocco is a predominantly Muslim country, we always felt safe and found the people incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming. Embrace the local culture, try the food, and take every opportunity to interact with the locals. A little patience, flexibility, and curiosity will go a long way toward making this an unforgettable experience.

Croatia is gorgeous

Travelled as a single and managed to twist my knee before the actual cycling trip started. Not a good start. But the e-bike I’d ordered was great, and it was just a matter of hitting the battery harder than usual. The rest of the group was lovely and Alan Skulic the group leader was very patient and understanding – even carried my suitcase up 3 flights of stairs in Dubrovnik! Adrian our driver was equally patient and helpful. Croatia is stunning and the routes were varied and enjoyable. Some didn’t enjoy the gravel part; I’m used to gravel so I loved it. Some lovely downhills and the long climb on the first day was especially enjoyable. Prekrasno – the Croatian word for stunning. Easily remembered: break-crash-no.

Most Inspirational Moment

Alan said some previous customers had enjoyed a meal at Roco Farm2Table in Korčula, so I went there. It was wonderfully quirky. The owner is pleasantly eccentric, served me my GRK (local) wine through the bars of the small window by my outside table to the accompaniment of Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac and Led Zep on the old record player. My seafood starter was perfect as a main, all veg grown by him. The view was lovely and the chats I had were most enjoyable. Korčula was easily my favourite place of the whole trip. 2nd most inspiring moments were the downhills under blue skies past miles of olive trees.

Alan was excellent. Great company, very informative on a range of subjects and he looks like Antonio Banderas. Another member of the group thought he was more of a George Clooney. Whatever, he didn't mind the leg-pulling. Nor did he mind my constant questions about the language - which sounds wonderful.

Advice for Potential Travellers

You often get a discount if you pay for your meals with cash. Make sure you have a mobile signal when dropped off by the old town of Split at the start or you'll spend ages trying to find the hotel. People seem to enjoy sending you the wrong way! But by October, I don't blame them. If you're in Hotel Vis in Dubrovnik, an upgrade to a decent view would help. My view of the bins was a bit of a downer after a wonderful trip.
