Blyde River Canyon, South Africa

Blyde River Canyon

Adventure Holidays to Blyde River Canyon

Known as one of the African continent's great natural wonders, The Blyde River Canyon covers 29 000 hectares, stretching from the misty highlands to the hotter and drier lowlands and the Blyde Dam. And at 26km long and 800m deep, it's the third largest canyon in the world. Located in Mpumalanga Nature Reserve, and forming the northern part of the great Drakensberg escarpment, the scenery is simply remarkable. With Exodus you'll spend a full day in the mountains where our route will have us walking into the natural amphitheatre, following the Thungela River past Protea trees. The Protea is the national flower of South Africa, as well as the name of their cricket team.
