Hi fellow Bolivia travellers on 28 Sept trip!

I’ve started packing and don’t know if I’ve gone over the top in the range of clothing. I’m taking fleecy hoodies but also a big down puffa jacket. We do seem to be running the range of temps of about -2 to 30 though.

Also cash....pristine dollars seems to be the suggestion plus atms for local currency. Sterling doesn’t seem to be easy to change?

any insights appreciated, and looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi Tina - We came back from our Bolivia trip yesterday. We encountered temperatures from -12 (Uyuni desert - the morning we went to the thermal pools, don't let the outside temperature put you off as it was a great experience) and 30+ in Santa Cruz. Although it was cold in places we always had sunshine, so be prepared to wear layers. Also, bring a bright coloured top for the photos in the salt flats!

As for cash we used the ATMs. Many people converted US dollars (can be done at most hotels I believe), changing pound sterling notes was not as easy though.

Enjoy your trip!

thanks so much Odile, that's very helpful. Big jacket and $ it is then.
