Chimps and Gorillas in Reverse

Hi - anyone else going on this trip.  I am getting very excited and it is not very long now - less than 60 days - just wish I felt like hills were easy but I keep working at it.  See you all at the airport.

Hi Helen,

I'm going on this trip and I can't wait! A couple of people I know that have been on it tell me it's the best one they've done. I've wanted to see gorillas in the wild ever since seeing Gorillas in the Mist! :)

Hopefully others will get in touch nearer the time.

Sore arm today from all my boosters and vaccinations.  Visa to be sorted today now I have my yellow fever certificate.  Still practicing my hill walking lol.  Definitely going in the old lady group if there is one for the trek.  Gorillas in the mist was my trigger too many years ago - that and the David Attenborough documentary.  It was then cemented by visiting a friend in Australia who had done the trip and he showed my his album - he was as close as david attenborough which made it seem really possible.  Since then I have planned to be slimmer and fitter before I booked it - trouble is the years go by and the opposite happens so this year I thought "stuff it".  Look forward to meeting you - perhaps at the airport for a coffee before we fly ? H

I am very excited but DREADING the walk to reach the gorillas. I hope to join Helen in the 'old lady group' and have done a couple of hill walks to practise. I haven't seen Gorillas in the Mist but saw David Attenborourgh and have read a few books. I know people who have been gorilla treking and they said it was amazing. Hope to meet you for coffee at Heathrow.

Are you travelling alone as I am.  I do not know Heathrow very well so do not know where to suggest we meet - any ideas.  I have just been trip advisering all the lodges etc - I am so giddy now (and only a LITTLE bit nervous!)  We will have to swap numbers or email addresses or similar to organise where to meet.  I am on facebook messenger if you can find me on it - I live in Worksop near Sheffield

Hi Helen,

I may have found your email and Facebook page OR I emailed someone who is really confused! I'm travelling alone and suggest meeting after security as the queues can be slow. If I didn't reach you I suggest we both contact MArta at Exodus and ask her to pass on our details. See you next week.

Hi Helen and Rosemary,

I'm also travelling alone so would like to meet up in Heathrow if possible. I am on facebook and my email address is [email protected]. Just off to do some last minute shopping. Feel poorly prepared all of a sudden!
