Nepal - 30th March 2018

Hi

Hi Karen

Lovely to hear from you. Where do you live? We are about to move to West Sussex on Monday...anywhere close?

Yes getting very excited as we done Peru in 2016 which was amazing too.

Claire

I'm from the north west, near Manchester.  This will be my second visit to Nepal, I did the Everest Base Camp trek last year.  I'm looking forward to trekking in the Annapurna's and seeing a bit more of Nepal.

Hi Claire & Karen.

Kay & James, plus Tina & Richard (EXODUS vets!!) joining the trek from Bradford on Avon, nr Bath. Just 100 m hills round us but the snowy conditions of past week afforded some long 10+ mile walks to bed in kit and test out layers etc. Karen, you and Tina will be swaping stories about EBC, and Claire the same with T&V about Puru, otherwise J & K havn't done Exodus before. Think we are up to speed with all the Exodus info but still slightly uncertain as to when we get to change sterling for nepalise money!! Asked and it seems its either the airport whilst getting our Visas or in town.

Cheers

Kay & James

Hi,

Last year we were told that we would get a better exchange rate in town rather than at the airport.  There were some places not far from the hotel and in the evening the guide did take some people to a money exchange place before dinner.

Hi K many thanks as shows how we can spread the whole process, more confident on that issue now. Cheers K & J

We live in Sedbergh, Yorkshire Dales/Cumbria and this is our fist visit to Nepal so both excited and both hoping our fitness levels are OK. Flying from Manchester via Dohar. We have both been with Exodus to Mt.Toubkal. Have also heard that you get a better exchange rate in Kathmandu. We applied for and got visas sorted in advance from Nepali Embassy but it might be too close to departure now - you have to send your passport with the application.

Any tips for Nepali newbies gratefully received - and look forward to meeting the group.

Is anyone else flying from Manchester via Doha?
