Average age
Hi gayle,
well I'm more than twice your age! I guess the age group will depend a bit on the type of holiday. I've been on just a couple of Exodus holidays, trekking in S Africa and cycling in China, and from memory the age range was roughly 30 - 65 for both, mostly fairly fit and active people.
I'm about to go on a kayaking trip, and I'm assuming much the same age ranges ... come to think of it, maybe it also partly depends on time of year

hi Gayle,
I have just returned from trekking the Great Wall of China and we had six in our group all about your age. So it does depend on the type and it is luck of the draw. Don't let age put you off, its all about state of mind.

Hi Gayle - the great thing about group travel especially to some of the more "difficult" destinations is having a wide variety of ages. Most of us know our limitations and I suspect some of us older clients don't want to go on trips exclusively peopled by pensioners. I know I don't.
We are joining the Uzbekistan trip in October and have in the past been to Libya, Iran, Syria and the like and enjoyed the age mix.

Hi, Im 23 and this i am about to do my 4th holiday of this kind (although normally i travel with the adventure company). So far all of my holidays have had a wide range of age groups, but i never feel left out and have always had great fun, with everyone contributing to the success of the trip! Have fun

Hi Gayle,
I'm in my late 40's, but I've done all sorts of Exodus trips ( and similar) over the last fifteen years. Age is very much "attitude of mind", but for me the success of the trips has been directly linked to common interest , i.e. people wanting to do similar things. Very active holidays (e.g. high altitude trekking or biking), or those that involve camping tend to drag the average age down and achieve that 'common purpose'. You will be at the younger end, but pick the right trip and you'll have a great time.
Hi Gayle,
As others have said the average age and age range of people on these group trips depend on where, style, activity and cost. I've gone on over 15 of these style trips mostly with Explore and Exodus and it has varied. The youngest contigent was on a Felucca Nile Cruise, which was also the lowest cost of the trips ... a coincidence? Maybe it was the sleeping on deck? Camping Safaris tend to have a lower average age than lodge safaris, but the ones with Exodus / Explore have an older average age than the usual "overland companies". Which is what I want ... my days of hanging out with 18 to 21 year old gappers for long periods of time are over!
It is more about attitude. Trekking the High Atlas in Morocco last year I was with people in their 20's and 30's and three lovely ladies from Canada in their 60's who were not the slowest in the group by any means. In Costa Rica another lovely lady in her 60's used to come out with us (the single men, mostly 30's as it happens) when we went zip wiring and to bars in the evening. Speaking of which that's another factor that can affect the group dynamic, the split between singles and couples. I know it's not always true, but as a rough rule of thumb, the singles tend to socialise more and stay out later ... well okay that's me and my experience lol!
The simple answer to your question is, yes, people of your age do use these companies. What I do and I would recomended you to do the same is when booking / making enquiries, is to ask what the group make up is. The ages and the split between couples and singles. If you then have a preference for something you can then choose dates with a group make up that is more preferable. At the end of the day though if I want to go on a holiday at a certain time, that has never stopped me!
So go book yourself a trip and I hope you get a good group ... it can't be all that bad if I keep coming back after all these years!
Hi Im 26 and just got back from my first exodus trip had a fab time and met some likeminded people. Although I was one of the youngest on the trip age as never an issue and I had a fantastic time. If I were you Id book it and go you wont regret it.

Hi folks
I'm interested in alot of the holidays that exodus offers. I'm 26 and work as an outdoor instructor and get on with all age groups. I was just wondering whats the average age of people that go on these holidays and just wondering if people my age use this company.
Regards
Gayle
