Nice to meet you Mick and Midge. My husband Chris and I can't wait either, it's coming round fast!  Seen conflicting advice re what currency to take, some say sterling some say US dollars, am edging towards taking dollars, do you mind if I ask what you are taking?

Gill & Chris

We are taking dollars - we -

We are taking dollars - we did that 3 years ago in Kenya and changed some on arrival at the airport. Sorry for delay in answering - dont seem to get to do much socialising online!!

Getting packed today and last minute shopping for bits - if I can fit it all in the bag! May have to get a bit ruthless and chuck some it out.

So excited. Look forward to meeting you both.

M and M

Hello fellow ayu trippers -

Hello Claire and I (Julie) are also on the trip on the 24th so looking forward to meeting you. Are any of you thinking of doing the balloon trip?  We are travelling down from Newcastle so will be at Heathrow early if anyone else would yuo want tommet for a coffee.

 See you all soon

not long now! -

hello, not been back on for a while! Thanks for the reply re the money M & M, last minute packing here too, am getting very excited now! Although seem to have very little clothes and a huge collapsable bag full of sleeping bags etc!   Hi Julie and Claire - we are also flying from Newcastle. (we live in Northumberland)  We have decided to fly down the night before though and plan to be in Heathrow early afternoon. I really wanted to do the balloon flight but think we have decided against it (not so good with heights!) but you should go for it if you can, as anyone I know who have been on one say it is fantastic.  Jane , it's great to hear from someone recently back, glad you had a great time!
