Manaslu Circuit - 3 weeks camping and hiking in Nepal - are you ready?

Trip - TNA - MANASLU CIRCUIT, Departure Date - Tuesday 2nd November 2010

I've just recently booked up for this circuit - 4 months before the event - which is early for me... but I've been thinking of doing a Nepal trip since Christmas.  I was looking to do the Annapurna circuit - but all of the discussion around the new road put me off.  I may do it another year, and fly back from Jomsom. I also had a recommendation in mind that the best trips in Nepal are the camping ones - where you have the same crew the whole route - rather than the one that stop at a different tea-house each night.

Then I found this one - and thought it looked ideal...

I did the Tour de Mont Blanc last summer (~10,000m climb over 2 weeks), and Mt Toubkal earlier this year (4,167m); so I'm hoping that 5,213m isn't going to give me too much gyp... although the addition of rough camping for 3 weeks should add to the fun.

Now - just need to plan what to take; and get back into alpine hiking fitness.  I started this weekend with two hikes in Alpe D'Huez... only an hour's drive from my apartment in Grenoble... Let's hope I can keep it up...

Are you on the same trip?  Why did you choose this one?  Have you done similar trips before?

Andy.

Anyone else on the trip? Or -
Anyone else on the trip? Or just me? ;-)

facebook group anyone? -
I've just created a facebook group possibly to share photos when we're back... but just as much because I wanted to try facebook groups. I think you'll be able to join here at the moment - because it's open http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_137252349656732&ap=1 and then I can set it private when we get back Andy.

Manaslu Circuit -
I've booked to do thtis route in March this year. So how did you find the trip in October and have you any tips for me? Anything which you would have found useful to take?
