A challenging off-road expedition in the shadow of Mt. Toubkal, North Africa's highest mountain

Within easy reach of Marrakech, the trails around Jebel Toubkal and the surrounding peaks offer some memorable mountain biking. Our challenging route is incredibly varied as it makes a loop around this impressive peak. The landscapes change considerably from fertile valleys, full of walnut, fig, date and olive trees, to the thick pines of the Toubkal National Forest, and the beautifully barren reaches of the High Atlas mountains themselves. There is a genuine feeling of remoteness that is enhanced by our carefully chosen 'wild' campsites. The riding itself is mainly on dirt tracks that wind their way between mountain villages, where we experience the way of life of the local Berber people. The week ends in Marrakech, were there is time to lose yourself in the heady atmosphere of the souks and Djemaa el Fna square.

Itinerary

Day 1	Fly London to Marrakech.
Day 2	Drive to the summit of Tizi-n-Tichka for a spectacular tarmac descent to Agouim. Head off-road to our wild camp for the night.
Day 3	A ride in the Andouss Valley with some exhilarating downhill, before heading uphill for a swim in Lake Ifni which offers some great views of Toubkal.
Day 4	A predominantly downhill day finishing in Aouzioua, a village by a dam. Transfer or ride to our camp.
Day 5	A challenging start to the day with an (optional) 18km climb to Tizi-n-Oulaoune, with panoramic views of Jebel Toubkal, followed by a thrilling 18km descent into the Agoundis Valley.
Day 6	A day in the Toubkal National Forest with testing climbs and technical descents through the pine trees. A final climb to our camp can be arranged for those who want another challenge.
Day 7	An exhilarating technical 2000m descent lasting 40kms to Tahanauote; transfer to Marrakech for a free afternoon to explore the city.
Day 8	Fly Marrakech to London.
