Each trip is graded by Activity Level, so you can easily find one that matches your fitness and confidence. If you’re new to walking holidays, we recommend starting with a lower-level trip and building up from there.

Exodus tours are designed to be accessible for most active travellers, but we assign an Activity Level to every trip to help you choose your perfect adventure based on your ability and preferences.

On many trips, there are options to shorten walks or take alternative routes. Your tour leader will always support you and help find a suitable option where possible. Our walking experts are always happy to help you find the perfect match.

Most walking holidays include accommodation, an expert tour leader, all in-country transport and guided walks, plus some meals.

International flights, travel insurance, and some meals are usually not included, but we can often help arrange flights for you.

A typical day usually begins with breakfast and a briefing from your tour leader, followed by a guided walk through some of the destination’s most scenic landscapes. Walks may include stops for photos, rest breaks or points of interest along the way.

Afternoons might include more walking, time to relax, or optional activities, while evenings are often spent enjoying local cuisine or exploring your surroundings with the group.

Solo travel doesn’t have to feel daunting. With Exodus, you’ll join a small group, led by an experienced tour leader who prioritises safety, giving you the confidence to travel further and explore deeper. Our itineraries include a mix of group activities and free time, and with everything pre-arranged all you need to do is turn up and enjoy the adventure.  

Every walking holiday is different, so make sure you check your itinerary. Consider the terrain and the weather at your chosen destination and set time aside to research the climate expected during your walking tour. Sturdy walking boots with good ankle support are essential, as well as appropriate socks to reduce rubbing.

A hot climate will require a sun hat, sunglasses and appropriate clothing, such as shorts and t-shirts made from breathable materials. Walking trips in destinations with hotter climates, such as those in deserts, can plunge to chilly temperatures at night, so be sure to bring layers, particularly if you are camping. Some countries also experience heavy or intermittent rainfall, so a waterproof is recommended.
