The tunnels of Cu Chi are a vast underground network that formed the centre of operations for Vietnamese guerrilla soldiers – the Viet Cong – during the Vietnam War. As well as providing concealed passages and supply routes, the honeycombed network had living areas, munitions factories and even hospitals. Dug beneath the jungles of South Vietnam, the tunnels covered some 155mi (250km) at their peak.
Many of our Vietnam trips include Cu Chi Tunnels tours, which offer a sobering reminder of the nation’s relatively recent history and showcase the ingenuity and resilience of its people.

Wendy Tomes Cycling VietnamWe have been to Vietnam before but this time felt we saw so much more by doing it in a group with a guide . This was a really good mix of cycling and sightseeing . We went to places we would never have found on our own . It was incredibly hot cycling but there are plenty of drinks stops and you start early every day to minimize the heat . There are some long transfers but the bus is good and worth it to see more of the county . The organisation is very slick compared to other exodus trips we have done . The hotel in Saigon is in a good location I recommend arriving a day early so you can see more of the city and stay a day at the end so you see more of Hanoi . We eat out at some great local restaurants and the food was so good and cheap – all organized by our guide . Hotels were all good as well .
Bee A Cycling VietnamThis trip is about experiencing all that this amazing country has to offer. Vietnamese cuisine is amazing, the people are kind and the cycling is varied cycling from the city streets, to rural roads and national parks. I am used to riding in the city and surprisingly, some of my favourite highlights were the few short sections riding through the city (Dalat, Hue). Seeing our group weaving around some locals on motorbikes was really fascinating.
