Anyone going on Chopsticks & Coconuts 6 August?

Really looking forward to it along with our son (16) and daughter (14). It would be great to hear from anyone else going on the trip!

Yes, we are! Flying out on 6th from Gatwick. We have 2 children 11 (daughter) and 9 (son). Looking forward to our trip, haven't been to this part of the world between India and NZ before - so very excited.

Currently debating malaria tabs?? from looking at many websites and speaking to our practise nurse I don't think we need them, but still anxious. Have you made a decision on this?

Hello there, nice to make contact ... we're flying from Gatwick too and also v excited!

Re anti-malarials, we too were unsure. I think there is a very low risk, but we have decided to take generic malarone (bit cheaper than malarone) from day 3. Our doctor felt that the first point of (low) risk was on the train journey and you have to start taking them 2 days before, hence that day. We plan to take them for 19 days in total. Hope that helps.

Have you thought about currency? Are you planning to take dong, dollars, pounds ... ?

TheGeorges

We will take dollars, then can exchange when we get there for dong. We think that most people will want dollars. Need to sort dollars and then we will be ready for the off!!

No malarials for us. Looking forward to the trip... 2 girls 7 and 11. Not looking forward to the flight!

Anyone remember Ted Chippington, the comedian?
Walking down the road the other day and a bloke comes up yo me and says "I've just got back from 'Nam". I said "where d'ya mean mate, Vietnam?" He said "no, Cheltenham".
