Walking in Sardinia

Can anyone let me have some feedback on Walking in Sardinia?

I did the Amalfi Coast last year and enjoyed it, but not the steps, does anyone have any feedback on the walks?

I'd be grateful for your input.

In answer to Rose, and anyone else interested, I've done both the Sardinia walks and the Amalfi coast.   Comparing the two I would say that they were both at the same level - moderate - (no steps in Sardinia!) with just Tiscali being a bit more 'challenging'.   You have to pick your way over some sharp rocks towards the end.    Sardinia doesn't have the 'to die for' views that the Amalfi coastline has but that doesn't mean to say you don't get views just the same, of a different type.   The first walk on the itinerary - Monte Tului - is an uphill workout - very good for unfit legs! - with wonderful views at the top   The gorge walk could be a downhill leg shaker or a flatish there and back walk (there are two routes) but if you like cold water you can have a dip in the water hole which is refreshing after the walk.   Cala Luna is not exactly the typical coast walk but the sight of that beach and the turquoise sea at the end of it is worth the slog.   The food is excellent, at least I thought so, as long as you like genuine Italian food, and Dorgali has sufficient shops for browsing and buying not so expensive souvenirs.   They deal a lot in leather goods.

Don't compare this too much to the Amalfi trip as they are really two different kinds of terrain, but enjoy just the same!   I loved them both.

Many Thanks Marian.  I had already booked to go in May instead of October and you have confirmed that I have probably made the right decision!  time will tell!

Thanks again

Hi Ann,   The flowers in Spring in Sardinia were wonderful.   The sea is not as warm as October but I think you made the right choice to go now.   Have a great time!
