Today is National Forest Day, and we’re celebrating the rich biodiversity of the world’s greatest forests. Without our woodlands, this world would be less interesting – and we believe it’s important to respect the natural habitats and wildlife that the woods of the world.

Amazon Rainforest

Deep in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, the trees quiver and shake with the sheer amount of wildlife that makes its home here. Immerse yourself in the sensory joy of the jungle and the shrieks, squawks and song of the 1,500 bird species found in the Amazon basin.

The canopy here can be as high as 70m off the ground, and more than 40,000 species of plants can be found here. It’s this sheer variety which makes the rainforest so important, and such a privilege to visit.

Mangrove Forest

A forest that grows directly from the water, mangroves are best explored by boat. It’s one of the most relaxing ways to see a forest, gently drifting between the twisted roots that emerge from the water in seemingly impossible fashion.

Nepalese Rhododendron Forests

Though it’s easy to think of the beautiful blooms of rhododendron as a staple of the English country garden, there are few sights more pleasing than ascending the Himalayan trails surrounded by beautiful brightly coloured rhododendrons.
