Amalfi Coast Tours & Trips

Explore the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a spectacular region in Italy. It’s famous for lemon trees, olive groves, and tiny villages all clinging to dramatic cliffs that tower above the sea. This beautiful destination is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site – and that’s with good reason. The towns and villages of Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello are linked by clifftop passes and old donkey trails, with each craggy corner unfolding more of this panoramic coastline.

The ‘Walk of the Gods’ descending into Positano is one of the most popular walks on our Amalfi Coast walking holidays, on which the cliffside routes will take your breath away. Head inland and you find vineyards and deep gorges, or follow mule tracks and old trails to picturesque hillside villages.

On your Amalfi Coast holiday, why not unwind in the evenings when you take a seat on a balmy terrace? Tuck into superb Italian cuisine, enjoy a cool drink and relax as you watch the boats in the harbour below.

This trip was nothing short of transformative. I have not travelled much in my life, at least not trips like this one, but nothing could have prepared me for how deeply this experience would impact me. From the first morning waking up in Bomerano, sometimes literally inside the clouds, I felt a new kind of aliveness I had never felt before. Every direction I looked was breathtaking, and every day left me feeling inspired, connected and genuinely grateful. What started as a simple hiking holiday quickly became something life changing, and our group bonded in a way that lifted my spirit more than I ever expected. It truly felt like stepping into a dream I never wanted to end. Every hike, every day, offered another reason to fall in love with life again.

Grazie assai, Agerola. Dentro le tue nuvole ho ritrovato il respiro, e nei tuoi sentieri ho imparato a vivere il momento. Non sognarlo soltanto: vivilo.

Jadin Leibovitch Walking the Amalfi Coast

We are an Australian couple who are first time Exodus clients. We had a wonderful week hiking the stunning Amalfi Coast in September with a great group of people.

Peta Cranston Walking the Amalfi Coast

This was my first Exodus trip and it was very disappointing. For the pros, the hikes were amazing and the hotel was cozy and comfortable. However, for our group of 16, six of us were placed with a private group of 10 friends who were celebrating a birthday and we were treated as tag alongs. One of the six joined another group and the remaining five were basically ostracized from the group. From the first night where our guide did not meet with us, we felt left out. We were seated separately for meals, given very little instructions, had separate what’s app group set up, etc, while we watched the cohesion of the other groups and how well their group leaders led them. Once or twice, another group leader would come by to give us information after noticing that we were left out. It left a very bitter taste and moved a few of us to tears by the end of the trip.

Planning your trip to Amalfi Coast?

Our experts have provided advice and tips to answer the most common questions about small-group guided adventures in Amalfi Coast. Get in touch if you need any more information.

Where to stay on the Amalfi Coast?

There are plenty of stylish places to stay on the Amalfi Coast and our tours aim to cover as many of them as possible. Some of the places you can stay on your Amalfi Coast holiday include Bomerano, Amalfi, Ravello, Positano, Capri.

Where is the Amalfi Coast?

The Amalfi Coast stretches along the southern coastline of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula. It’s roughly 50km long and features beautiful towns and cities along the way, including Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano.

What makes your Amalfi Coast tours unique?

With years of experience in this region, we know the trails, towns and traditions inside out. You’ll explore in the company of expert local guides, enjoy warm hospitality in family-run hotels, and discover local secrets. Our Amalfi Coast small group tours are where we pioneered Italian walking holidays – and we’re still leading the way.

Are there small group tours available for the Amalfi Coast?

Absolutely. Group sizes typically range from 4 to 16 people, offering the perfect balance between shared discovery and personal space. Whether you’re travelling solo or with friends, our small group tours are sociable, expertly led, and stress-free.

What activity level is required for your Amalfi Coast walking tours?

Most walks are easy to moderate, taken at a leisurely pace of 2 to 3 miles per hour. Expect well-marked trails, some gentle ascents and descents, and spectacular sea views throughout. One of our most popular trips, Walking the Amalfi Coast , is ideal for travellers with a reasonable fitness level and a love of fresh air and Mediterranean landscapes.

Can I join an Amalfi Coast tour as a solo traveller?

Sure! Solo travellers are always welcome, and many people join independently. Our small groups make it easy to form new connections, and our experienced leaders create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. You’ll feel part of something special from day one.

What are the highlights of your Amalfi Coast small group tours?

While you’ll still walk the famous Path of the Gods, visit Pompeii and cruise to Capri, it’s the moments in between that really stand out. Think: rolling dough at a pizza-making night with the Acampora family at Hotel Due Torri, sipping homemade limoncello after a cliffside hike, or cooling off in a hidden cove known only to your leader . You might hear stories of Vesuvius from someone who grew up in its shadow, stroll through peaceful hamlets far from the crowds, and end the day sharing seafood and stories under the stars. Fancy something different? Try our Italy Coast to Coast by E-bike: Puglia to Amalfi Coast – it’s the Amalfi Coast, with a little extra zip.

Are guided walking tours included in your Amalfi Coast itineraries?

Always, and they’re led by expert local guides who know the region like the back of their hand (and probably know the baker by name too). Every walk is handpicked for its beauty, cultural depth and wow-factor. These aren’t just walks. They’re stories told step by step, led by someone who knows exactly where to pause for the best view (or gelato).

How many people are in a typical small group tour on the Amalfi Coast?

Group sizes typically range between 4 and 16 travellers. Small enough for flexibility and camaraderie, large enough to share stories and the occasional limoncello.

Do your Amalfi Coast tours include cultural or culinary experiences?

Absolutely – and they’re at the heart of every trip. From pizza-making nights with the kids on our Amalfi Coast Family Adventure to visits to Pompeii’s ancient bakeries, vineyard strolls, and sampling mozzarella and lemon-infused dishes – every day brings a new flavour. You’ll explore gems like Villa Cimbrone in Ravello and artisanal food spots only locals know.

Which villages or towns do your Amalfi Coast tours visit?

Typical itineraries feature stays or visits in Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Bomerano and the island of Capri. Some cycling and extended trips also include Sorrento and the unspoilt Cilento Coast. Each destination offers a unique slice of the Amalfi experience – from sea views and scenic piazzas to hidden coves.

What type of accommodation is included in your Amalfi Coast tours?

Our travellers always rave about their stays at Hotel Due Torri, a charming family-run hotel in Bomerano. Hosted by the Acampora family, it’s become something of a spiritual home for Exodus. We’ve brought groups here for decades! Expect home-cooked Campanian dishes, pizza-making demos and balmy evenings on the terrace. Depending on the itinerary, you might also stay in seaside guesthouses, converted convents or family-run agriturismos – because with us, even your accommodation has a story to tell.
