Amalfi highlights

Really well organised and great insights due to knowledge of our excellent group leader

Most Inspirational Moment

Several.. first glimpse of Amalfi coastline driving down to Amalfi on first day. Ravello and walking round gardens of Villa . Trip to Capri. Walking Path of the Gods. Trip to Pompeii / Herculaneum .. all amazing!!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Veriano our group leader was brilliant. So much knowledge / fun and guided us sensitively with humour without making us feel we were on a school trip !

Advice for Potential Travellers

Check you are happy with a group approach especially at the hotel .. dining together every night .. not high quality of food or drinks

Suggestions

Felt the hotel was overcrowded due to number of tExodus tours .. did not like communal institutional type dining and felt sheer numbers compromised food/ drinks and service . Also for first time in life felt age discrimination .. I am a very fit energetic 60 + person and felt we had all been lumped into the elder group .. better to mix up more .

Fantastic

Varied walks some quite technical but as long as you are fit they are great. Also cultural activities so a good mix.

Most Inspirational Moment

Bouldering

All of it! But absolutely loved the overnight boat in Ha Long Bay. The chefs on board were so talented. And it was such an awe-inspiring moment watching the sunset with my lovely group.

Our Guide Quang was exceptional and made sure the entire tour ran seamlessly. He really did ensure we had the trip of a lifetime!

Most Inspirational Moment

Climbing to the peak opposite the Tre Cime di Lavaredo was particularly impressive! We had uninterrupted views and the weather was beautiful!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jenny was the best! She was so passionate about everything, and had some great tips and advice about snowshoeing and the destination!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Layer up! When the sun is out, it can be really hot! but towards the end of the day or when the sun disappears it can get really cold, so make sure you have enough layers!

Excellent hiking and cultural trip

The trip was well planned out and provided a good mix of hiking and visiting Italian cultural places.

Most Inspirational Moment

Visiting Venice and seeing St. Mark's palace and square.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Vania de Paoli - She was excellent - well organized, fun and accommodating to every level.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The level indicated was leisurely/moderate. I would go with moderate, as the hiking was fairly intense.

Amazing Sri Lanka

Amazing places, scenery, people and activities

Most Inspirational Moment

Climbing Lion Rock and the amazing sunsets

Thoughts on Group Leader

Roshan was incredibly knowledgeable with a great sense of fun

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for tge heat and humidity. Also be aware that Worlds End may not be possible if there is low cloud and it is wet. An alternative will be given and the alternative will mean that you will see/pass through Ella Gap during daylight hours

All Iconic Sights covered.

This was the first trip of its kind travelling around China with Exodus. It covered all the iconic sights and we used every mode of transport. There were some incredible sights and experiences which could only be done with an experienced local leader and a small group. There were just eight of us.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Great Wall of China.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jerry was superb. He was extremely knowledgeable. He looked after our group very well, helping us to get the most experiences possible on our trip.

Advice for Potential Travellers

There is a great deal of walking involved. We averaged 20 thousand steps per day. A good level of fitness is needed to thoroughly enjoy the full itinerary. It was warmer than expected, so pack lightly and layer up if needed. The optional shows are a must for the full experience of China. The food was outstanding and inexpensive with lots of choice.

Suggestions

The sheer number of people in the cities and also visiting the tourist sights took some acclimatising to. It is worth it though!

Good

As mentioned in other reviews some of the walks are a bit challenging – mainly on the descent – this was our first walking holiday and after the first day had concerns about if we could stay the course . We did – and whilst still challenging we did enjoy it . Many thanks to our group leader Roberta who kept us safe and informed throughout and maintained a sense of humour even in the face of group moaning ! Hotel is good in respect of all staff who are lovely and service which is great – drinks reasonably priced and cocktails good . Cleanliness and cleaning also excellent . Food was sometimes excellent and sometimes a bit monotonous – especially breakfast . Our room wasn’t brilliant – too small – no drawers and particularly difficult on wet day with nowhere to hang anything to dry out . Other rooms much better . Our group mix was excellent a highlight of the holiday . Overall a good trip with just a few niggly bits

Most Inspirational Moment

Visit to Pompeii . The views on all the walks . The Group :)

Advice for Potential Travellers

Check room allocation /facilities before you go

highlights of ancient Greece

A trip to major sites and a good chance to cover quite a bit of the country and appreciate its natural beauty

Most Inspirational Moment

Too difficult to choose. seeing the Acropolis lit up at night? walking underneath the Lion Gate at Mycenae? The scale of Messene? the rock formations of Meteora?

Thoughts on Group Leader

I can't praise her highly enough . Often there are separate specialists for each place but Stephania knew eveything about everywhere. She was a walking encyclopaedia. Not only that, she had a lovely manner , was friendly , approachable and arranged a group meal every night if we wanted it . This was perfect for me because as a single traveller i was slightly worried about being left on my own.

Advice for Potential Travellers

you have to have an interest in the subect matter . I had studied prehistory and archaeology at university and had originally booked this trip in April 2020 so it was something I had longed to do.

Suggestions

The last day involved a very long drive and a long wait at the airport. I quite understand when you have a long journey you have to err on the side of caution and get to the airport in good time but maybe you could consider organising the trip in reverse so that the group is already in Athens on departure day. YOU MUST UPDATE THE TRIP NOTES ABOUT LONG SKIRTS NEEDED AT THE MONASTERIES, LONG TROUSERS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Amazing trip to Morocco!!

When we agreed to this trip, I was nervous to say the least. Our guide Lahcen and the people of Morocco immediately put all of that to ease. We had an amazing trip. Lahcen and our other tour guides taught us about the culture, history, Islam faith and community of Morocco. It was unbelievable. I’d also be remiss not to mention Abdul, our driver. The care he took in getting us from destination to destination was awesome!!

Most Inspirational Moment

Visiting Lahcen’s home near Marrakesh and visiting his village, Imlil, in the High Atlas Mountains were very inspiring. While visiting Lahcen’s communities we learned how special his family and community are to him and saw firsthand the community coming together in support of a villager, his family, and the rest of the community that passed away during our visit.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lahcen was amazing!!! His patience, love for Morocco and appreciation of our group were spectacular!!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for long bus rides. Going from Casablanca to the High Atlas Mountains/Marrakesh, and everything in between requires a lot of drive time. It’s so worth it though. We saw ancient Roman ruins and other UNESCO World Heritage sites, stayed in Riad’s across Morocco, visited markets in each city/location, learned so much about the Moroccan people, and rode camels in the Sahara Desert. Wow!!!

Suggestions

Thank you Lahcen for being such a great guide and wonderful human being. The trip wouldn’t have been the same without you… and Abdul!!
