Best of Vietnam

Vietnam trip: excellent guide, great accommodations, good variety of activities and foods, nice sized group (8) Cambodian trip: guides were also very good, only 3 participants, so we had our own private trip

Most Inspirational Moment

The cruise on Lan Ha Bay was wonderful. I loved all the different types of boats that we were in during the trip. Also loved the visits to villages, for flower making, mat weaving, rice wine tasting, cooking, tea drinking, to name a few.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was an excellent leader - always available, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, good sense of humour, able to deal well with any difficulties that arose - I felt completely confident with him in charge.

Cape Town and the Garden Route

This trip honestly wowed me from beginning to end. I left feeling inspired, more connected to South Africa, and genuinely excited to keep exploring. A huge part of that was because of our guide, Marco Olivier. He went above and beyond every single day—whether it was finding the best views, sharing thoughtful recommendations, patiently answering all our questions, or giving us the kind of stories and insight you can only get from someone who truly loves their home. His leadership didn’t just make the trip fun; it made it meaningful. What could’ve been just a vacation turned into a deeper, more authentic cultural experience, and I’m incredibly grateful for that.

Most Inspirational Moment

Honestly? Pretty much everything. The diversity of each experience made the whole trip feel special. We also had such a great group, and Marco did an amazing job bringing everyone together, which made it all even better. If I had to pick favorites, I’d say Addo Elephant Park, Schotia Safaris, Table Mountain, and those incredible coastal views.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Marco was honestly incredible. He went above and beyond every single day to make sure we had an amazing experience. His passion for South Africa—its people, culture, wildlife, and landscapes—came through in everything he did. You could tell he genuinely wanted us to understand the heart of the country, not just see the highlights. He created moments for learning, connection, and seeing things from a real local’s perspective. His enthusiasm was contagious.

Active Costa Rica: Waterways & Wildlife

Our guide and driver went over and above to make our holiday enjoyable.

Most Inspirational Moment

The amazing wildlife walks, excursions, zip wire and tubing on the rapids.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jonathan was a lovely and very friendly and a very approachable man. We always felt at ease.

Disappointing

We’ve been on 6 Exodus trips previously and they’ve all been excellent. This trip was a real disappointment. It was under resourced and poorly planned. This was a surprise because we’ve been personally recommended this trip by other Exodus customers and the trip is very well reviewed on the Exodus website. We’ve discussed the trip with Exodus and it appears that a new local provider was appointed during 2025. All of the reviews on the website relate to trips provided by the previous provider so I would recommend that anyone considering this trip keep an eye out for more recent reviews before signing up. Hopefully things will improve.

Reply from Exodus

We’d like to thank Jonathan for sharing his thoughts and for being such a loyal Exodus customer. We’re truly sorry that this trip didn’t live up to the fantastic experiences he’s had with us before.

The Coast to Coast itinerary remains the same as the one so many of our customers have loved, and we’re committed to making sure it delivers the adventure and enjoyment they expect. Recent feedback has highlighted areas where we need to do better, and we’ve already taken steps to improve resourcing and logistics so future departures run more smoothly.

We’re incredibly grateful for Jonathan’s honesty and for the trust he’s placed in us over the years. We sincerely hope he’ll give us the chance to welcome him back and show him the quality he’s come to expect from Exodus.

Iceland October 2025

To be able to get an idea of a country by driving around it is something I would recommend wherever you are. Even better when someone else does the driving.
The views even with unpredictable weather were always second to none. Black sand beaches and icebergs one minute, Lunar like landscapes the next. Spectacular waterfalls around even turn. Enormous fjords and glaciers that you can actually hear moving.

Most Inspirational Moment

I celebrated my 50th birthday whilst on this trip and the northern lights came out in the evening!! how lucky. Our guide Palmi had bought his camera phone and a tripod and so we all got a group shot of us with the lights, brilliant idea.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our guide Palmi was great. He was laid back and funny, a great talker. Made sure that everyone was looked after, clear about times and where to meet etc. His knowledge and love for his country was clear throughout. We had a WhatsApp group to share pictures with one another and to stay in touch. Just a fantastic bloke, give him a raise.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is a great holiday to do if you just want a break from walking and cycling holidays. The accommodation overall was good. Everywhere was clean and warm. The breakfasts could see you through to dinner time. Iceland is no more expensive than London in a good restaurant. The days are packed with lots to see which was great for my camera.... We did the Vok baths, highly recommend. swam in a 6 degree lake and then getting into a geothermal pool heated to 40 degrees was life affirming. I will visit again.

Discover Sri Lanka

Excellent choice of stops on the tour. We visited many of the island’s most important spots and had a brilliant guide. The hotels were mostly of a very high standard with good breakfasts featuring Sri Lankan food. Our guide had expert knowledge of flora and fauna which added to the tour and helped make it a nature trek as well as anything else! Transfers were seemless and our driver and his support were excellent,, ensuring our comfort throughout the journeys

Most Inspirational Moment

So many! All of the temples, Dambullah and Sigiriya particularly, seeing so many elephants and birds on both jeep safaris, lovely bike ride with lesson in Dahl making and fabulous local food and the visit to the farm where we were looked after by locals.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Sujan was brilliant! His knowledge of all the nature was amazing. He was funny and personable and got to know us individually. He talked a lot about the local cultures and religion and always answered any questions I had. Excellent tour guide.

A Week in Jordan

Good itinerary.

Most Inspirational Moment

Petra. Dead Sea swim and mud. River Jordan looking over to the Occupied Territories

Thoughts on Group Leader

Abdullah was great. Helpful, knowledgeable and anticipated our questions

Cycle the Back Roads of Sri Lanka

They cycling was absolutely excellent – the days were really well planned, from distance to ‘free-cycling’ or tour-group leader-led cycling. They really nailed the parts where we should ride together and the parts where we could cycle at our own speed.

Most Inspirational Moment

The cycling! The scenery was beautiful, the snacks en-route were excellent and the rides were a great mix of challenging and more relaxed

Thoughts on Group Leader

Nish was a great leader - it's hard to bring together 16 people with different cycling abilities and interests but he was very good at keeping us on time and organsiing everything for us. He was also excellent at spotting wildlife along the way, and clearly has a huge amount of knowledge about Sri Lankan history and nature.

Vietnam Adventure

The trip I participated in was a good mixture of moving around the countries (Vietnam and Cambodia) as well as spending time visiting key cultural sites. The guide in Vietnam, Binh, was very good. He was organized, informed, friendly and kept us all safe, entertained nand updated on changes to the itinerary due to the flooding. ne important point is that the replacement of Hué by Ninh Binh was a great success. I would go as far to say that that was the best part of the trip. There were many places to visit and activities to do. It was also enjoyable to see some countryside instead of another city. Even though there were different nationalities and ages, we were a cohesive group of people of similar interests who mixed well and I have the impression that Exodus appeals to my sort of people.

Most Inspirational Moment

Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Ninh Binh in Vietnam

Thoughts on Group Leader

Binh managed to be very sociable without overdoing it. He is a credit to your organization.

A Cuban week to remember

This is a quick trip that gives an insight into the Cuban way of living across the island.
I thoroughly enjoyed my week in Cuba, go with the flow and embrace it. You will experience blackouts, limited water pressure, limited wifi, poverty but that is part of seeing the real Cuba.
To visit the different areas you have to spend the coach time travelling but it was worth it as I enjoyed every destination.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were lots: Vinales plantation, Hummingbirds, Trinidad, Vintage car tour in Havana & live music in restaurants/bars.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Nelson was a great guide, he looked after the group really well and enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge with us. He encouraged us to ask questions and was fun to have around.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I took only Euros with me and never needed to change any of them for Cuban Pesos. Euros & US Dollars are accepted everywhere. Only take notes as coins are not accepted. Notes must be in good condition, they will not be accepted if they are ripped or too worn. Take small notes as you may find it difficult to use notes of 50 + Euros & USD were valued the same, 1 Euro or 1 USD = 400 cuban pesos (on average). Water is readily available to buy. There are no public drinking fountains so no need for a filter water bottle unless you want to fill up from the tap in your room. Take tissues/toilet paper with you for your comfort stops. When you get small peso notes, keep them for tipping at toilets or have some 1 US dollars. Take some gifts for the locals with you. You will enjoy meeting people throughout the trip and it is lovely to leave them something that we have in abundance but is limited for them. I took paracetamol, ibuprofen, deodorant, sweets & chocolate. Ropa Vieja (shredded beef) was the best dish I came across. The mojitos are good but try Canchanchara which was a delight to drink.
