Thoughts on Group Leader
Could not fault Guillermo - just the right level of information given. Super knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble.

Fantastic mix of activities in a beautiful country with excellent guide, driver and group.

This was my first trip to South America and won’t be my last. I’ve now taken 6 Exodus tours and this was my favourite. There were numerous and various places to visit, even the long drives through the Andes was full of amazing scenary and things to see. There were highlights every day. Your health is well looked after, with testing twice a day whilst at altitude.
Moments- Driving through the Andes, Exploring Cusco, Seeing the condors at Colca Canyon, interesting and photographic Santa Catalina Convent in Arequipa.
Giscard was brilliant- not just a group leader but a teacher, a listener, an expert in cookery & altitude walking, a father figure and like a brother. He quietely looked after us all individually.
Machu Picchu and the Nazca Lines will be on everyones 'Must See' list and didn't disappoint but there's so much more to see. Layer up with clothing. If you have a decent camera, take it, with the appropriate lenses, for city but especially wildlife shots.
I did this add-on as a pre tour, from Lima, before my Essential Peru tour. I was the only person from Exodus on this add-on but was never alone as the groups from other companies allowed me to join them. That gave me the best of both worlds, I was not only guided by guides from these other groups but had the extra priviledge of my own Exodus guide pointing out anything they missed!
Inspiring moments- Boat trips down the Amazon, night walks with guides coaxing the Tarantulas out, giant river otters at Tres Chimbadas Lake, sights and sounds of Macaws at Colpa Chuncho.
Klaus and Leo were very thoughtful and amazing. Other than accompanying me on my day and night walks Leo set up a scope just for my use, took some phone shots and videos with my phone, even made me a coffee, at Colpa Chuncho. At Tres Chimbadas Lake I was supposed to be in a small rowing boat but Klaus hired a much bigger boat (30+ seater I think) knowing I had a lot of camera equipment- there was just me, him and the boat owner. Due to that I saw the giant river otters which the bigger groups hadn't seen the previous day.
It was very humid so dress appropriately. The lodges were very comfortable. Several power points were available outside the restaurant, as well as tea, coffee and bananas at all times. WiFi can be picked up at various points around the lodges. You can either mix with others or have your own space.
Amazing trip, excellent guides and very interesting itinerary with so many experiences and amazing wildlife.
The wildlife both in Ecuador, for example so many hummingbirds. The Galapagos is something extraordinary and it was a privilege to visit. So glad we were land based as we saw more and enjoyed the towns.
Both leaders were some of the best I have come across, Etiel was an amazing communicator, story teller and imparted of knowledge and he was very funny! He also inspired us to think about things differently. Janina was lovely, real good communicator, so knowledgeable about the Islands and about the wildlife. She also told us about living there which added an extra dimension. We were so lucky getting them both!!
Tri Nyugen our leader and his support team were the best we’ve encountered – he found interesting routes to cycle, places to visit and eat as a group – the hotels were good quality and we had 2 massages in hotels that were excellent- had laundry done by local contacts for very low price and experienced local people harvesting dragon fruit in the fields- we stopped and sampled the fruit/ interacted with the local people. Tri was spontaneous, thoughtful and even gave us all ides of what to do in Hanoi after he left for those extending their stays – he just kept giving of himself. One older lady had an injury, he took her to hospital for stitches and back again to get her stitches out. He made himself available 24/7. The roads were busy at times but the team kept everyone safe even standing in the middle of crossroads and roundabouts to get us safely across- it was very well orchestrated . We went on our own organised day trip with another tour operator after the holiday had ended with Tri and found the coach less comfortable, driver less safe, the guide less able to adapt to people’s needs / less caring and the content was more for mass tourism and less enjoyable. It was a stark contrast to the experience we had had with Exudus. We were with new Exodus clients and those who had tied many holidays- all said the same how good you are. This is our 5th holiday with you, walking and cycling.
The children along the way waving to us, riding their mopeds alongside us- excited to see us. The excellent hotels in places with roof top bars and massages, the quiet cycling on back roads seeing dragon flies and butterflies in abundance, the chartered boat on Hulong bay with sea kite birds diving int the water.
He was the best we have experienced and his team- made the holiday for us - a real treasure
The itinary was good, going to key sights ans organised to get there when crowds were least. I would probably have included Abu Simbel l, rather than having it as an option.
Pyramids, Valley of the Kings, Karnac, Luxor, Abu Simbel, dinner in the numbian village, Nile cruise - basically all of it
Andrew was well organised and knowledgeable about ancient Egypt. He judged the activity level of the group well and flexed itinaries to meet multiple needs. He was also extremely patient when asked is same question repeatedly?? I would definitely recommend him as a guide.
This tour was an amazing way to experience the heart of Tuscany. The itinerary was perfectly balanced with cultural visits, delicious food and wine experiences, and plenty of free time to explore or relax. Some highlights for me were the guided tour of Siena, where we tasted incredible pastries made from unique local recipes, the pasta-making class in Chianti with a warm and welcoming family, and the wine tastings at beautiful family-run estates where we learned so much about what we were enjoying. Our day in Florence was equally wonderful. The hotel in Pancole was cozy and inviting and all the family and staff were so welcoming, and our tour leader made everything smooth and enjoyable. A fantastic trip filled with unforgettable memories!
Standing on the hilltop in Volterra, overlooking the endless Tuscan countryside, was incredibly inspiring. The blend of ancient history, peaceful streets, and breathtaking scenery made me pause and truly appreciate the beauty and depth of the region. But to be honest, every single day offered its own “most inspiring moment” — Tuscany has a way of surprising you at every turn.
Our tour leader was outstanding—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about Tuscany and Italy. She made every part of the trip smooth and enjoyable, offering help whenever needed, sharing tips and engaging stories, and even giving us a thoughtful personalized gift at the end. Her warmth and enthusiasm created a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for the whole group, making the experience truly fantastic!
Pack comfortable shoes for walking through cobblestone streets and rolling hills, and be ready to savor every moment—Tuscany is best explored slowly. Don’t hesitate to try local wines, cheeses, and pastries wherever you go, and take advantage of the free days to wander charming towns, soak in the scenery, or follow your own curiosity. Bring an open mind, a sense of adventure, and your camera—every corner is picture-perfect!
Absolutely stunning scenery but a lot of travelling and very little choice if vegetarian. Iguazu falls should be included if you can!
Trip notes very out of date, allow for much higher prices for optional activities and tipping.
The optional glacier trip was stunning, as was the optional penguin island trip
Sadly new to the role and had little knowledge to impart, but appeared to have a wonderful time taking selfies
Trip notes were very dated re pricing, expect to spend more. If you don’t eat meat there was really very little choice at some of the places visited. If you are looking for souvenirs don’t leave it to the end as Ushuaia and Iguazu had very little choice.
From the day I met Claudio in San Pedro to my last day in Salta.
I have seen so many different landscapes, cycling on so many different roads.
Was great to cycle on a salt lake, in narrow canyons, in a the devils’s throat on a road above 4000m in the middle of the puna among lamas and vicunias, in a forest along lakes or in the middle of vineyards and cactus !
A difficult choice ! My first day in Argentina: cycling above 4000m in the middle of the puna was really special
Claudio was always here for me- for assistance, for recommendations and also for customising the trip to my taste. Always very friendly ! He even introduced me to his family !
I will repeat Claire and Andrew precious advice that I followed ! Great to get used ro altitude. And a must see !
An amazing all round trip – Sri Lanka is one of my favourite countries I have been to so far ! Sri Lanka truly offers everything from beaches ,mountains, safaris and forests. The people are so friendly and the food is incredible .
This trip enables you to see the whole of Sri Lanka at a fair pace – you able to see all the main attractions and the lesser known spots as well . There is a perfect amount of free time allowing you time to relax by the pool or enjoy the hotel . The hotels were of high standard and the service at all of them was exceptional.
I felt like we had sufficient time in every place and everything ran so smoothly. We were able to see and learn so much in the two weeks. This holiday was incredibly well planned and run . Thank you Exodus !
Visiting the farmhouse and being able to take part in traditional Sri Lankan games - This was such an incredible experience that allowed us to experience local life .
Roshan was incredible and very helpful !
Pack a warm jacket/jumper as gets cold in the highlands
