Cape Town and the Garden Route

Great trip which was well organised with a brilliant guide

Most Inspirational Moment

The safari at the Private Game Reserve near Addo was amazing Hermanus whale watching Everything about Cape Town Also enjoyed being in Port Elizabeth for the extra day and visiting Cape Recife and the SANCCOB rehab hospital for penguins

Marco was an excellent guide! I have been to South Africa many times to see family who lived there and have visited Cape Town and the Garden Route once before, but I learnt so much more from Marco about South Africa than I ever learnt from them! He was very well organised and I think it was brilliant that, even though he was the driver, he had a system so that we could ask questions and provided lots of information to us.

Well organized trip!

This was a well organized trip in a remote region. Beautiful views and very quiet trails . The hikes are quite challenging with a good amount of exposure in certain sections. Jose,our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced and yes,he does make the best lunch sandwiches!
The accommodations were simple , comfortable with a great view.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is a challenging trip and the walking pace is quite fast. Good fitness level and training on hills prior to this trip are highly recommended.

Amer went above and beyond. Probably the best guide I've experienced on such tours. His knowledge was comprehensive and yet he could switch into a more social mode when necessary, he put group members at ease about any and all situations and even accompanied members when they wanted to do something like shopping for a specific item, even if it was outside his allocated time.

Most Inspirational Moment

Every day was a highlight. I loved Amman, and would recommend if you can, going a day early to explore. The hotel was well located, so you could wander the vibrant food markets, fruit, veg, nuts spices herbs, into the gold market. Great food in small shops. Jerash was stunning really interesting and brought to life by our guide. Petra, 2 days were definitely required. The walk into the site is as beautiful as the site itself.

He was a perfect leader, funny, serious, thoughtful, concerned for our welfare, passionate about his country, eager to make sure we enjoyed ourselves.

Two vacations in one!

The tour started in the rainforest in Borneo where we saw orangutans, monkeys, crocodiles and various birds. The river cruises on the impressive Kinabutangun river were awesome! The second part on the peninsula was wonderful for culture, beaches, wildlife and food!!!

I especially enjoyed the mangrove boat excursion as we saw so much wildlife and stopped to swim on a beautiful quiet beach.

Both Rony and Jason were excellent tour guides who are passionate about their job and proud of their country.

Advice for Potential Travellers

November 1-8

We were a group of nine mostly strangers to each other who bonded during this wonderful adventure. Francisco and Raphael could not have been better trip leaders. They were very gracious, helpful. knowledgeable and fun to be with. We did not just hike but about new Flora, Fauna, and Portuguese customs, including food, cork , olives, ceramics, wine and medrano distillation.

For me, visiting the olive oil producer, and tasting was number one followed by the Medrano plantation where we learned at a local custom of distilling the Medrano fruit

Francisco was fantastic! He was very friendly, organized and knowledgeable. No complaints. He kept us on task without making us feeling hurried. Great itinerary.

Advice for Potential Travellers

We were very fortunate with the weather, which was ideal for hiking. Not too hot and minimal rain. When we got to Sagres some of the restaurants were closed due to it being the end of the season.

Highlights of Ecuador & the Galapagos

Excellent trip, supported by knowledgeable trip leaders. We saw so much wildlife, learned about culture and history.

We had two tour leaders Etiel and Annina both were excellent

Kilimanjaro Climb - Lemosho Route

The trip was amazing, we summited Kilimanjaro and we were well looked after by our leader Lucia Kivoi and her team.

Most Inspirational Moment

The highlight was undoubtedly summiting Kilimanjaro but also climbing to the top of the Barranco wall safely. The food was excellent and the campsites and toilet facilities were much better than I was expecting.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lucia Kivoi - was amazing and very inspirational. She organised her team to perfection, everyone was happy to be there, very friendly and knew exactly what their role was and they all carried out their roles extremely well. Lucia went above and beyond to look after every single person in the tourist group, her communication and organisation skills and attention to customer care were the best. I would definitely recommend Lucia and her to team anyone interested in taking part in this trip.

Fabulous trip

This was a fun, educational and exhilarating trip. As usual, our Exodus guide (Mario), was out outstanding. Highly recommend this trip.

An amazing experience

This was an incredible trip from start to finish, with some unforgettable memories. Our tour leader was Mohammed – a humble and lovely guide that was passionate about his country, people, and culture – this just enhanced the experience- and nothing was too much trouble. Our driver Ahmed (may have the incorrect spelling) was a careful and considerate driver, that went above and beyond too in helping the group. And Morocco – what an amazing country – steeped in history and wonder. Exodus certainly take you off the beaten track to some incredible and different experiences! Thank you so much!
