A very beautiful place

We travelled to Patagonia in the group, departing November 16th 2015. I had waited a long time to visit and was not disappointed. There was a lot of travelling to do, but it is such a vast area, this was ineviatble and the long days by bus were limited to two on rough roads. Fortunately, the weather was good and this only enhanced the stunning scenery. Generally, the accommodation was good, Calafate is worth mentioning as I thought the accommodation was exceptional and staff extremely friendly- and had the best room views from my perspective.
The activities were well considered and there were lots of opportunities to stop and admire your surroundings. Most memorable will always be the long walking days, because there was no rush and they took you to places of incredible beauty.
Buenos Aires was an interesting city, with hidden gems for us, which included an area to have luch and watch tango in the day time.
I would struggle to find fault with this trip, only that it would have been easy to extend and stay for longer.

Most Inspirational Moment

As I had waites for so long to visit, just being there was inspirational. Our walk to Mount Fitzroy was a particularly good day. Great weather and stunning scenery all around you. Our entire group made it up to the highest point and the views up there were fantastic. I particularly recommend continuing the walk down to the lakeside and a small lake hidden from view, which was the most beautiful colour. The mountains framed by the two colours was just brilliant. A good day, all tired but hopefully happy .

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our leader was completely full of energy and although he did not know the city so well, his knowledge of the countryside was very good. I found him very good humoured and funny. He was helpful and if he had overlooked minor things at times, there was a good vibe most of the time. Our leader went out of his way to try and cope with everyones needs as best he could. We will keep in touch via facebook Im sure.

Advice for Potential Travellers

There are some long travelling days and those visiting should remember that the way to get the best views involve long hikes at times, so have all the most comfortable gear to do this. Local guides were good, with at least two who were excellent in El Calafate and Ushuaia.

Excellent trip!

Wonderful trip – excellent coverage of the country with visits to heritage sites, national parks and discovery of local culture. Our trip leader, Roshan, was terrific – the trip was very well organized and thought through up to the little detail. Accommodations and transport did exceed my expectation – we stayed in very nice properties throughout the trip and the condition of the tour bus was great.

Most Inspirational Moment

I really enjoyed Dambulla and Polonaruwa sites as well as National Parks with fantastic wild life.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our trip leader was fantastic. He was professional, very organized and thought about every little detail throughout the trip. He was one of the best tour leaders I encountered throughout my travels.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Bring strong insect repellent.

A great sightseeing trip in a lovely country

A great trip with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable leader (Bien) and a great bunch of people. Although not really an off the beaten track holiday, the sights are all worth seeing and it’s a good balance between travelling and staying in one place.

Most Inspirational Moment

No one inspirational moment stands out, but highlights included Hue, Hoi An, the My Son temples, the Cu Chi tunnels and the overnight homestay in the Mekong. Plus the cycling trips, both included and optional.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Bien was a great leader. Organised, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his country. Always willing to let us know about things we were seeing or passing, and an authority on most things we saw on the trip. If anything he was too willing to let us know about things, but it was generally a bonus. He made the trip go smoothly, and was happy to chat to us about the country, his family and the history.

Advice for Potential Travellers

It does get surprisingly cold and wet in Hanoi, don't forget some warm clothes and waterproofs/umbrella. The Hanoi/Halong bay part of the trip is fairly manic after you arrive, but it does calm down once you get to Hue. The cycling trips are worth doing, and the cookery was surprisingly good fun for a non-cook. The overnight train is defintely basic, but go along with it and it's a fun experience - and not so different to sleeper trains in other countries. The war remnants museum in Ho Chi Minh city is sobering but worth spending time in, and make sure you grab a drink in the bar in the Bitexco tower - not the easiest bar to find, but persevere and the views are great.

Cycle Nicaragua, Costa Rica & Panama holiday

Overall very good.

Most Inspirational Moment

The beauty of the three countries. Flora and forna. Panama canal.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was friendly .The trip would have been excellent if the leader provided more information about the culture of the three countries and some of the activities on offer. there could have been more effort made for New Year Celebrations

Advice for Potential Travellers

it can be very humid and hot ...take extra dollars for expenses - food and drink

Essential Peru

Fantastic trip. We covered a lot of sites and locations.

Most Inspirational Moment

Machu Picchu , Ollaytantambo, Arequipa, Cuzco

Thoughts on Group Leader

very helpful and considerate

Advice for Potential Travellers

Yes, pack light, it is not so cold after all and chew coca leaves for altitude. Try to sleep in semi vertical position the first nights at high altitude . Drink plenty of LIQUIDS (juices, tea, soups) . You shouldn't kill yourself trying to swallow 4 l of water daily! LIQUIDS is the word!

A Wonderful Tour

Amazing culture, history and scenery.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were lots of great moments, visiting the churches of Lalibela and sitting among a vast troup of Gelada Baboons are just two of the highlights.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Gebre was first class, anticipating all of our needs. He looked after our large group with skill.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Remember there is quite a variation in temperature so pack accordingly. Hotels in Ethiopia are not up to European standards, but most of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Discover Chile

Thoroughly enjoyed holiday! but would have preferred 3 weeks instead of 2, in order to visit Chiloe and spend more time in Torres del Paine park.

Most Inspirational Moment

Torres del Paine.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very competent.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be flexible. Early morning starts, lots of flights.

Inca Trail

Very well organized and all went according to the plan which was increadible

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Second day was hard and was challenging.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was friedly and calm. Reliable and easy to get on with

Advice for Potential Travellers

Claimbing to high altitudes during the walk so be ready and try to get your body adjusted to lack of oxygen with whatever ways you know as soon as you arrive.

Land of the Tiger

This was the second time I had done this trip, having enjoyed it so much 2 years ago. It exceeded expectations!

Most Inspirational Moment

Undoubtedly seeing so many tigers, including a female with 4 cubs on their first public outing. Forestry staff had seen them, but we felt very special when the cubs appeared.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Hemal was helpful and conscientious, ensuring we were fully informed at all times.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't underestimate the weather - really cold mornings and evenings on the New Year departure. We all bought an extra fleece and wore two! The sun will burn at other times, so check carefully. Dust is also a problem and protection for cameras is high priority.

Fantastic sycling in Kerala

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. I kept saying this at least three times a day during the trip. The landscape, all the friendly people along the route who cheered at us and the consept of sycling through Keralas wonderful environments.

Most Inspirational Moment

The most inspirational moment of my trip was when I reached the top after sycling 36 hairpin bends through the most wonderful landscape you can imagine.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The Group leader made me feel safe. I really appreciated his way of leading the group and how he guided us through all kind of traffic.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't forget Your camera. There are plenty of Pictures to be taken:-)
