Discover Burma - December 2015

We are booked on the Discover Burma trip departing 19th December 2015 and would like to hear from fellow travellers. We have travelled with Exodus before and the forum is a great way of getting to know the group before we depart. Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi all, I’m also booked on this trip departing 19 December and really looking forward to it. I’ve ordered all 4 books on the Exodus recommended reading list and have just finished ‘Burmese Days’ by George Orwell. It’s a no holds barred story about British colonial rule in Burma. I look forward to meeting you all in person.

Best wishes.

Jules

Good to hear from you both, not long now! I must admit, we haven't selected any of the books from the reading list but judging by your comment on Burmese Days, Jules, we might have to read up on that one. Are you both booked on the group flights?

Yes, I'm on the group flight. Look out for you at Heathrow?

Hello,
I will join you in Rangoon. Coming from Switzerland through Singapore.
Gill and Ian maybe you remember me from Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda...
Take care

Hi everyone! I am flying out on 18th so day before the group flight. See you all in Burma!

Hi All just one question. Are any of you intending to take malaria tablets? People I know that have been have said you don't really need them but the map looks high risk. I would rather not take them as I don't really like them.

Mary!! How could we not remember you?! So glad you're with us on this trip. Remember getting very giddy on Ugandan Gin on New Years' Eve?! Looking forward to seeing you again. xx

Paula - yes, we will be taking Malerone. Rather not risk it!

Just checked the trip notes and malaria tablets are strongly recommended unfortunately, as I hate taking them too. But better to be safe.

Thanks girls! I think the doxycycline sound the best out of all of them. I really hope they agree with me.
