Chimps & Gorillas of Uganda

The local organisation was great. Our driver was very friendly and engaging. We were allocated excellent gorilla treks based on the needs of the group.

Most Inspirational Moment

The two chimp and gorilla experiences were excellent. Day 2 of each was so different from Day 1 and for us, Day 2 of each were the highlights.

Thoughts on Group Leader

We had a main leader (Sam) and a 2nd driver (Beki). The trip was well organised and Sam got us allocated to appropriate gorilla treks for the particpants on each day. Easy on Day 1 and Medium on Day 2.

Cycle the Back Roads of Sri Lanka

Well organised, good and clear trip information, varied and interesting itinerary. Cycling distances were well thought out. The trip guide Ruwan Balasuriya was absolutely fantastic, well organised engaging and extremely knowledgeable. Him and his excellent support team made the trip very enjoyable and run smoothly. A really great and memorable experience.

Discover Sri Lanka

Very good agenda and guide giving us a real feel for the country. Nice group as well, we all got on well.

Most Inspirational Moment

Visit to a farm to play Sri Lankan games. Fun and so different. Also the safari in Minneriya with the elephants was fantastic as it was by chance quiet and exciting. Unfortunately, cloudy after climb up Lion's rock - would have been worthwhile going later or waiting a bit longer on the top for the clouds to lift.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very good guide who was very organised, friendly and made a real effort to explain the country to us. Really great that he brought a map and 'blackboard' for the bus with him.

Hidden Vietnam: Sapa & Beyond

Well organised. Itinerary a little different from other companies. Excellent tour guide.

Most Inspirational Moment

Homestay in northern hill village. Kayaking and cruising on Lan Ha Bay. Visits to caves. Cycling at Hoi An.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ha was an excellent leader: well organised, friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and always ready to make good suggestions about places to see/activities in free time.

A Week in Jordan

We got to the hotel on Sunday night at about 1:00 am local time and had to be up and ready to go the following day at 8:00 am. Monday was a very action-packed day so I was very, very tired by Monday evening. Other than that, the time was well planned and so were the activities

Most Inspirational Moment

For me, Jerash, Petra and Kerak Castle

Thoughts on Group Leader

I liked him. He was very personable, knowledgeable and friendly. He was extremely kind and helpful to a member of our group who had to curtail her holiday and return home due to family illness.

Spice Trails of Kerala

AMAZING

Most Inspirational Moment

EASY TOP THREE: - Manoj added a mini-sunrise-over-Messapulimala excursion to one of our hiking days, EASILY the highlight, amazing, perfect, obviously unplanned but really brilliantly executed and was just gorgeous. - The day where we did Messapulimala, with waking up & having the evening in camp. I love camping, the camp was great, the food was great, the stars were amazing.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Manoj was fab, and the trip wouldn't have been the same (and anywhere near as fabulous) without him. He managed the group (which was pretty big!) really well, balancing what people wanted to be doing and seeing. He arranged the sunrise trip - which I've said was an absolute highlight for me. He had local knowledge and communicated it at just the right level, and he was just a super-friendly and sociable member of the gang!

Fantastic cycling holiday with a great mixture of cities, backroads and water ways.

One of my best ever cycling holidays lead by a brilliant local team (Vini and Arun) headed up by the amazing Safi. It was good to experience the chaos of a city in Mysore with crazy traffic and cows in the road. Fort Kochi, which is a world heritage site, was laid back with lots of interesting things to see on our day off the saddle and lovely boutique shops where there was no hassle from vendors! The night on the converted rice barge was lovely and relaxing and so nice to float past everyday life on the river. Cycling along the coast, it was good to see fishermen hauling in their catch and to paddle in those warm waters.
I particularly loved waving at friendly locals as we cycled by (and them waving back) and the school children so excited to see us and practice their English.
Apart from the climb up to Ooty which is optional, I felt this holiday should be rated a difficulty level of 3 rather than 4. Once you’ve finished the Western Ghats, the cycling is very flat.
Added to all that, we had a truly lovely group of fellow cyclists on the holiday who all helped make this such a pleasurable trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

The descent from Ooty through tea plantations, a towering eucalyptus forest and areas inhabited by elephants. Also seeing a baby elephant on the safari - adorable!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Safi was a total inspiration. He was friendly, super organised, clear in his instructions, looked after our safety, took us to good restaurants and organised extra activities if we wanted them e.g. a cookery lesson in Kochi and yoga in Varkala. He made checking into hotels a breeze by sending one of the team there in advance so when we turned up, we were handed our key with no unnecessary admin.
