Annapurna Circuit - is anyone else booked?

Has anyone else who's booked signed up to this forum? My husband, Stephen, and I started our training yesterday with a half day walk in the Peak District (where we live). We climbed Shining Tor above the Goyt valley. Next up is Kinder Scout and a week in the Lake District in October.

We ( Alan & Kate )are doing the Annapurna Circuit on this trip. We've been on quite a few trips like this with Exodus & other companies - New Zealand, Chile & Argentina, Peru & Bolivia, ... and are looking forward to this one.

Lucky you Mirrlees - living in the Peaks. We live in flat Essex, but its good walking country.

We're starting to do a bit more work to get fitter and have a week walking in Italy before we go.

I'm on the Circuit trip too. First trek, been wanting to go for a few years and finally decided to take the plunge. I'm not training particularly, already very fit, though I'm sure I'll find some extra walking muscles! It'll be quite the departure from South London for sure!

Looking forward to meeting you all! :)

Hi Everyone

I've just booked (person no. 13 apparently - unlucky for some!) and will be travelling solo. Done a few Exodus trips before but this will be my first time to Nepal. I live in Norfolk which I think might just trump Essex in terms of flatness?! I've just started with my attempts to get fit again, had a bit of a break over the summer which I'm beginning to regret, but hoping it won't take too much to get back. Based on my previous (limited) experience of walking at altitude we'll be going slow and steady anyway. Is anyone else flying on the group flight from Heathrow? Any top tips or advice?

Looking forward to seeing you all soon - 8 weeks. Eeekk!

Hi, I'm booked on trip departing 03-11-2012.

Is anyone on the same departing trip?

Roberto Garcia

How's everyone doing? I've had a stinking cough and cold for the last week so physical activity has ceased! On the plus side, my Exodus kit bag arrived today :)

Stephen and I are staying in Grasmere this week. Fantastic weather last Sunday - did Crinkle Crags, Bowfell and Esk Pike. The legs were telling us about it the next day but having walked every day they're getting the message. We're walking the Helvellyn ridge tomorrow - Clough Head to Dollywagon Pike if you know it.

We're travelling from Heathrow. We used to live a bus ride away so we're visiting old friends in the area.

Lokking forward to meeting you all

Mirrlees Dolley

Just a week to go... At some point this weekend I intend to get all my stuff together and then panic when I realise just how little 12kg trek allowance is when I've got my sleeping bag in. I might have to leave some of the chocolate bars at home! At least we can leave a clean change of clothes at the hotel in Kathmandu! Don't forget your passport photos for visa (if you haven't got it already) and trekking permit.
