Hi, we took this trip 2 years ago as our first trek and loved it so much we are now on our third. We weren't the oldest at 53 and 59  though of the 8 of us most were 30s or 40s. We are regular walkers and I did some extra gym sessions as I was worried about fitness but we had no problem . The sherpas keep you to a sensible pace for the altitude without holding people back and its such a sociable atmosphere that you don't notice how fast slow, steep or long you are walking. Food is basic but freshly prepared and you can choose from several options. Water can be bought bottled at start but boiled and filtered higher up. All the staff were great and really friendly - we played cards alot in the evenings with them. The trip notes were pretty accurate. We had perfect weather going the same time as you - dry and sunny every day. Hot in Katmandu and during the day but increasingly colder at night with altitude , particularly for the Poon Hill ascent but if you follow the equipment recommendations you will be fine. I could go on and on as it was such a great experience - we were touched in quite a spiritual way by Nepal both the scenery and people everywhere and hopefully will go back . We had a lovely group of 8 people who all got on really well and wonderful guide, sirdar, sherpas and porters. I hope you have a similar experience.
