AON - Discover Burma - Depart 20th Oct

I´ve just booked so I am being excited. I also know that there at least 9 other people on this trip already. Looking forward to meeting you all in a few months time! And sincerely hoping this trip is going to be as amazing as it is in my imagination!

I'm booked on the Burma discovery tour and I'm so excited and do not know what to expect. Looking forward to experiencing new sights, sounds and smells....and of course trying some local delicacy and meeting new friends.

It is rather exciting isn't it? Are you on the group flight Jackie?

Hey Jackie, have you pre/booked the hot air balloon flight?

I'm from Canada.  Where is everyone else from? Who has gone with Exodus before?  What books are you reading about Burma?  I have "Letters from Burma"  "Finding George Orwell in Burma", and "The Lizard Cage".   All great reading.

Thanks "Fenoph"..I haven't started reading yet, however I appreciate the recommendations and have just downloaded two of them as a result! And, in answer to your other questions, I'm a Brit currently living in Germany and this is my 7th Exodus trip. What about you, have you travelled with Exodus before?

Hi Madz & Fenoph

I've not been on the forum for a while but thought I'd check in now the trip is on the horizon. I'll be flying From Glasgow to London and catch the flight to KL from there. Madz - are you flying out from London as well? I havn't been with Exodus before but if they are like The Adventure Company then I know I'll be in good hands. I have not made my mind up about going on the balloon trip - I'm not great with heights although I did go on balloon over the Nile and loved it. Do either of you know roughly how much USD you plan to take? Looking forward to catching up with you both!

Cheers, Jackie

Hello! Yes, I am also flying out from Heathrow, I'm flying into the UK the night before so might see you in the departure lounge? So, I've booked the balloon trip (apparantly I was the only one in the group to have done it, is that still the case?!) as a friend visited Burma a couple of months back and told me in no uncertain terms to do it. Also since I saw photos of her souvenirs, I've decided to add a bit on my dollar allowance, although I haven't done the sum yet to see how much I can take! I've even read a couple of books thanks to Fenoph. I really am starting to get quite excited.....
