Luggage for Classic Thailand

Hi all, i could do with a bit of advice from anyone who has been on this trip. Can anyone who has been on this trip tell me whether it is better to take a case or a backpack on this trip, i always seem to get it wrong. Any other advice regarding this trip i would be glad hear from anyone, i am travelling on my own.

Thanks Cheryl.

Hi Cheryl, we did the Thailand Jungle and Beaches holiday last August.  The Classic Thailand group followed a similar itinerary and stayed in the same hotels.  Most of the group took backpacks or large holdalls on wheels.  We took cases which wasn't a problem as the porters and drivers move everything for you. Most of the classic Thailand group were travelling solo so don't worry about being the only one.  You will have a fabulous time.  It was our best holiday ever by a mile.  Exodus certainly look after you and the local guides are brilliant.  We had a wonderful guide named Beam and she made every day of the holiday one to remember.  Do read the reviews of all the different Thai trips as you will get lots of tips.  If you have the chance do the Thai cookery course in Chiang Mai and have a massage there too, the prices are a lot cheaper than Bangkok.  Don't take a rain coat, just buy a cheap plastic poncho for 50p in Thailand and throw it away.  Take some shoes to wear in water, as the Erawan waterfalls etc are very pebbley and are enjoyed more if you can walk in them rather than hobbling from stone to stone.  Pack lightly and get your washing done in Chiang Mai after the trek.  We didn't and could not get the stains out of our clothes when we got home.  Others had 10 items of clothes washed and returned in a few hours spotlessly clean for about £1.50... hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Enjoy you trip. Sarah
