Hi Steve, I've booked the trip to. I'm heading to Europe for the first time (I'm from New Zealand) and this is the first thing I've got planned there. I'm really looking foward to this as well.

Hi Russell

I'm doing the land only trip and driving from just outside london on the saturday hoping to arrive earley evening.  Do you know the deal with the plastic boot thing, how does that work with wearing in if we hire them?

best regards

Hi, just back from Mont Blanc, done with some friends from climbing club. We had a great time but only 4 out of 6 got to top. Its a very tough climb. We took 2 1/2 to get up and 1 1/2 down, Altitude can be a problem here when combined with the heat. You'll need to get your fitness level up and do some rock climbing / scrambling as you'll have a climb of 600m striaght up.

 Hi Jim

thanks for the heads up I've done a bit of treking/climbing but nothing technical so really excited about the climb, suprised to hear the the heat was a factor at such altitude, better make sure I take plenty of ibuprofen

all the best

I'm not too sure about the boots but I'm going to hire some, since I don't own any.

I'm the same where I have done plenty of hiking but have no real climbing experience.

I'm travelling from the Cayman Islands. Hope the weather forecast is wrong! All this "tough talk" is intimidating, as unfortunately I'm not a Sherpa from Nepal!. At least I can take the heat on the way down, assuming I can get to the top (weather and legs permitting).
