Ben has cycled down the spine of France from Paris to Nice, sped past maundering zebras taking two wheels from Kilimanjaro to the Ngorongoro Crater, channelled his inner ‘Cliffhanger’ while summiting Mount Toubkal in winter and went mushing with huskies in Swedish Lapland to see the jaw-dropping Northern Lights.  You’ll see him at a parkrun or velodrome on weekends…if you can catch him!

Introducing parkrun Sicily: An interview with Paul Sinton-Hewitt CBE

parkrun Sicily

In October 2004, Bushy Park, West London, Paul Sinton-Hewitt CBE started a phenomenon which would bring communities together and help improve the health and wellbeing of people around the world.

At the time, there were just 13 runners who joined Paul in running 5km around the park. 14 years later and the parkrun family has expanded. There are now approximately 250,000 weekly parkrunners taking part in 1,300 runs across 19 different countries.

One of the most exciting aspects of parkrun tourism is the chance to see a new place – the variety of courses is part of the appeal. Is it hillier than most and therefore a challenge? Is it cross-country or tarmac? And of course, is there a café nearby…

If you’re looking to take your parkrun scenery to the next level, we have the solution: go global! You can join the parkrun family all over the world, and what’s more, it’s easy to combine with an Exodus adventure. So it’s the community spirit you love, but in a far-flung destination.

Better pack your running trainers.
