Anti-malarials

I'm travelling on the Amazon to Amazon trip 10-24th Nov. Does anyone know if anti-malarials are required for the time spent at the Amazon Basin (staying at Liana lodge)?

Looking on line I think the answer from other people's posts in trip advisor, the answer is probably no but just wanted to check what others had been advised.

Are you in UK ?

I usually check out a destination by  looking at :http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/home.aspx

and the specific country guide.  It will include a malaria map for the continent in question an dis keot reasonably up to date.

If you are not Uk citizen your own nationality medical advice might differ.  Ultimately only you can say if you want to take anti malarials , but taking general bite avoidance measures is a must  because of other  nasties such as Zika / Chikungya etc.

I use MASTA and spoke to the nurse at the travel clinic. She advised anti-malarial for the Amazon basin and I shall buy them in ASDA as the pharmacy there is cheaper than most.

Is anyone taking a mosquito net?
