Fitness level Mt Toubkal (long weekend - Winter)

Hi there,

I am considering doing the Mt Toubkal winter ascent in November this year and was wondering the fitness levels, and what training you would advice.

I currently go to the gym 3-5 times a week and race a dinghy once a week. I regularly walk the Cornish coastal path. In February I went to Maderia (not with Exodus) and did the ‐ Ponta de Sao Lourenco walk and Pico Ruivo in one day. The Pico Ruivo was okay, being 5'4" I found some of the very large steps tough ish,

I haven't done this trip with exodus but spent a week on my own camping in the atlas mountains last November. If you pace yourself on the way up and you've got some well fitting boots you shouldn't have any problems, there were people of all fitness levels having ago at Toubkal itself whilst i was up there. I went mid november prepared for a week in full winter conditions and it was unusually warm with no snow below 3800m meaning my crampons and axe only came out for a couple of times for some of the trickier surrounding summits.

(p.s.I find a pocket full of sugary sweets and snacks really helps with the altitude)

I have just booked to go on this trip in late November, i hope others book up too so the trip goes ahead as i'm really looking forward to it! And have started some much needed training.
