Hello from Sue & Steve

Hello to fellow travellers heading to Vietnam on 4 th May

vellers heading to Vietnam o

Hi Sue and Steve

we are also on the same trip I guess

Bibiyan & Jude

Which Flight are you'll on from London?

We are on the 11:00 flight from Heathrow.  Is  that the same for you?

We are on the 20:00 Flight from Heathrow..... the 11:00 was too close for us to make the connection, as we fly down from Aberdeen... and with Fog in the mornings did not want to chance it.

That is a long way, I thought it was bad enough travelling up from Cornwall.

We are going to travel by train Friday afternoon or evening (dependent on work) and staying at the Holiday Inn at Terminal 4 Friday night.

We did also thought of getting the Friday Night flight after work, but Flights on Friday night to London are stupidly expensive ~£400 for each of us + the hotel so we deceided on a later flight insted

Have youll traveled with Exodus before?

this is our first exodus trip, we normally do Jules Verne or Kuoni

i am not surprised you elected for the later flight at that price.  We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel price at Heathrow.  Before we have often travelled up on an overnight coach for morning flights so this year should be far more pleasant.

This is also our first trip with Exodus.  We toured China three years ago with Viking but that was a much larger group.

We were a little concerned at the last email from Exodus which seemed to imply we would need a visa for Vietnam.  We did not believe that to be the case but to be sure Sue contacted them today regarding this.               During a live chat conversation, an agent told her that as we are only in Vietnam for fourteen days, we are exempt from the visa.  Apparently the booking system was taking into account the travelling days as well.

Cheers for the info..... I did not receive any email for Exodus which is suprising?   Just looked up the Gov.uk portal... and I guess we should be Okay:

Until 30 June 2021, ‘British Citizen’ passport holders travelling for tourism or business can enter Vietnam for up to a maximum of 15 days (inclusive of dates of entry and exit) without a visa.

I did have a chat with the lady at Exodus to ask when we were going to get out airline tickets (so can get our seats in advance.. makes a difference on the long haul)  and other related details... expected in 2 weeks.

She metioned that we were 12 on the trip... youngest below 20 and the oldest 70, with a 7/5 breakdown not sure if thats M/F or F/M
