Mont Blanc Ascent - 15th August 2019

Hi all,

I've done the Everest Base Camp trek with Exodus, but nothing technical before, so this will be a learning curve for me.  Would be good to know who else will be joining me!

Hi Sasha,

Nice to hear from you. Everest base camp sounds like a great time! I did Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route last June which again, isn't a technical route. I've done a couple of days of of easy technical climbing in the Lakes with ropes, axes and crampons, but nothing serious, so I'm in the same boat really!

Looking forward to seeing everyone when we get there! :D

Counting down now - trying to get everything wrapped up work-wise (wishing I'd take some days off in the lead up!).  Have my standard hiking boots packed along with mountaineering boots - in two minds about taking a pair of trainers too, but acutely aware of keeping my pack lighter if I can.  I believe there's the option of leaving bits at the hotel during the trip, so may bring them and can always offload if I decide weight is an issue. Feel like most of the weight is made up of snacks...

Nervous about being totally new to the mountaineering stuff but have read enough blogs with people saying they were in the same boat and did fine so fingers crossed!

Mixture of nerves and excitment, but looking forward to it,
