South Luangwa National Park

South Luangwa National Park Trips

South Luangwa National Park is one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, and certainly one of Zambia's main attractions. At 9,050 sq km it's a vast area of unspoilt African wilderness, and centres on the Luangwa River. The meandering waterway creates scenic oxbow lagoons surrounded by lush vegetation, attracting one of Africa's largest concentrations of wildlife. You can expect to see elephants, hippos, lions, Nile crocodiles, Cape buffalo, warthogs, impalas and spotted hyenas, all in large numbers.

Due to its inaccessible location, the park still receives limited visitor numbers – although that is slowly changing – so South Luangwa National Park tours really are something special.
